I unfortunately missed the chance to play her in her prime and afterwards she fell off so hard, that it felt like a questionable investment to learn her.
But now she's been buffed, brawl is much more prominent and Bogur(who isn't truth personified, but is a nice orienteer) even rated her as one of the best tanks overall.
So is Emma really back and if so, what exactly makes her better/worse currently?
For as much fun as he provides, I doubt he will be that prominent in competitive because of how polarising his matchups are. He feels awesome to brawl with, but falls victim to poke and CC, Luna+White fox can stun him consistently and Hela/Phoenix/Punisher or even Starlord can exploit his hitboxes relentlessly.
It's disappointing, but I think he will eventually become another situational B-tierish tank like the Thing or Rogue.
And im not saying we should giga-buff him to the point of no return, it's just that instead of being just average In most scenarios, he will probably either be a coughing baby or a hydrogen bomb.
The most popular characters and especially tanks are the ones with consistent performance, not the feast or famine ones.
And DD mostly falls into the second category. He's the closest thing we got to a main tank since Emma, but he still ain't it and I still expect Magneto and Strange to dominate the field, at least in competitive.
