Bayshore hobby lobby- Never ever apply

So I was hired literally a week and a half ago, Ive worked 5 shifts (not counting those bs videos you have to watch for your whole forst “shift”)

Now, I have to add im not a young kid, im over 30 years old, have lived on my own but moved back in with my family when my mother had cancer (Shes ok now!!). So anyway-first 2 shifts were 4:30 to close. I Figured wtf? a 3 and a half maybe 4 hour shift? Turns out it takes at least 45 mins to an hour to get out of there. Thats absolutely fine.

my next shift was 1230 to close and it was a truck day. I’ve been trying to figure out how many retail stores I’ve worked for and it’s at least five or six. I have to tell you, I’ve never seen a more chaotic, dangerous, unorganized, and just dumbest way to unload a truck unless your main goal is to lose as much profit as possible. Employees and manager literally dumping boxes onto the table, breaking literally 20 Christmas mugs out of maybe the 180 we got today, and that’s not to mention the more expensive stained glass stuff that seemed to be chipped every time. Let me get to the real BS though.

when I was hired, I was told the first week I’d be shadowing someone and basically just learning the store. Also, I was told that the second week they would start training me on register. Well, that wasn’t true at all, also I said I’m not interested in the job if I’m going to have to be front end most of the time. It seems as if every day besides a truck day I will be mostly front end. The store is so frustrating, and I think two of the biggest reasons are because it’s so unorganized, they’ll have the exact same products or the exact same type of products in two completely different spots of the store. I don’t know if every hobby lobby is like this, but there are no aisle numbers, so it makes it extremely difficult to try to describe to a customer where something is. Also, of course, you probably heard that Hobby lobby doesn’t scan any products, you literally have to enter every price and quantity manually. Either the CEO or his douche son said this was to encourage more interaction between customer and employee. Is that not a joke? It’s like-let’s make our employees have to pay five times more attention while ringing someone up instead of letting them just scan each item, be able to interact with the customer a little bit besides just asking them do you want this wrapped or do you want a bag? Not to mention, they wonder why it always seems swamped in the store. Well when it takes at least three times as long to ring someone up, of course that’s gonna happen.

Today was the final straw though. I pulled into the parking lot at 8:56, saw two coworkers outside so I rang the bell and eventually we got let in. I punched in at 8:58, and did what I was instructed to do by the manager always: Go to front of store and look at what dept youll be in that day and when your breaks are. nothing was written, so I went and asked the CSM. apparently we got a seasonal truck with all Christmas stuff, so I walked to the back room. I looked at my phone and it said 902, when I entered the back, it may have been 903. As I walk in, my little pots of a manager starts going off saying I missed the “Morning Meeting”…….. excuse me motherfucker? did you forget that the shifts I’ve worked have been multiple 430 to close and a 1230 to close? I had never opened in my life and had never been told jack shit about a morning meeting. How much of a fucking meeting could it have been if I walked back there at 9:03 maybe 9:04 (although I punched in at 8:58….Im not psychic, I was told by almost every worker that trucks come on Friday, very rare that they come on a different day).

This floored me. I immediately got a little loud and said what? What are you talking about, what the hell is a morning meeting? This is my first time getting here before noon, was I expected to just know there would be a five minute morning meeting? So I brought up to him how I was so excited to work and get back to retail, but this isnt retail (unless we went back in time to 1996 when I was 3 or 4.) I told him I cant agree with the CEOs policy on LGBTQ+ considering my youngest sister is a lesbian. I also know about the 3m dollar fine when they smuggled religious artifacts, and that they limit contraceptives to women because they still consider 4 types of them a type of abortion. he says he knows nothing about it, and I said I’m sure you don’t. It goes way above your level. It’s your bosses bosses bosses boss basically. Long story short I said I’d keep doing the five hour closing shifts, or honestly any six hour shift, but I’m not interested in these 11 to close or 12 to close, especially these next few weekends close will probably be close to 930. You might think oh well you could get overtime… When you get hired at minimum wage and at your last job you were making $20.50 an hour, time and a half doesn’t really mean shit if it’s two or three hours.

The douche bag then tried to tell me if I don’t stay another two weeks I couldn’t use him as a reference because it would go down as abandonment of job. My response to him was-why would I ever use you as a reference anyway? I literally made it through just over five miserable shifts, why the hell would I ever use you as a reference? Just so the next job I get will be able to see that I only worked at my last job for three weeks?

I’m sorry I know it’s a long rant. I don’t think they are many if any parents on this sub Reddit looking to get their kids a job, but please please keep them away from this extreme extreme conservative right wing store. Everywhere you go they try to shove their beliefs down your throat, they act like they had these unbelievable cells when really it’s just crap and that’s what they’d be normally priced that anyway. If the Christmas stuff for 50% off right now was normal price, we would maybe sell 15 to 20% of it. Also, learning a cash register that I don’t believe is used anywhere in retail nowadays is just gonna make it harder if they get a better retail job offer that actually has a proper point of sales system.

Also, I remember my first retail job. It was at Petco, and I worked there for about six months, my ex-girlfriend, who was still my girlfriend at the time had her little sister die overnight by choking on her own vomit, they believe it was a mixture of alcohol and Xanax, and possibly a very small amount of oxycodone too. within about three months after that, unfortunately we broke up and this led to a six-month depression. Don’t worry I’m fine now this was back in 2015 2016ish. It took me about 2 1/2 to 3 months to have a very good grasp on where everything was supposed to go, and if somebody was looking for something you could simply say yes we have those aisle seven on the right hand side. At Hobby lobby Bayshore, you have to describe to the best of your ability where the item they’re looking for might be, and knowing that they don’t know where any section is means you can’t just say oh if you go back to the crap section, it’s two aisles to the left, or oh it’s the last aisle before the party section… You literally feel like you’re giving someone directions back in the mid to late 90s when GPS systems were hardly owned by anybody and sometimes at a random light or parking lot, someone will ask you for directions. Trying to find the right way to describe it to someone who knows next to nothing about the store can be extremely difficult.

Put fucking aisle numbers up with signs, and obviously add what’s in the goddamn aisle next to the number on the signs, and stop being cheap jay oh double-yous (joos) and pay for a proper point of sale system. They dont even use RF guns, theres like 3 Ipads that are only used by co-managers, CSMs, and Framing Department head.

How the fuck is this store still around?

Huge Suggestion

They need to make it easier to farm stardust, currently the only way to get it (as far as I know) is once a day (you get like 40 something for free, I think it scaled up depending on what boss league your in but still I get like 124 a day.) I realize you can sell geodes for a pitiful amount, and even invest so that each time you sell you get 5% more (yay, from commons selling for 100 now the sell for 105…) Every upgrade worth absolutely anything is gonna start at either 2k or 6k (some 10-11k), and the next time you want to update it its about 4x as expensive.

Also, for the skill tree, the purple souls are way too hard to farm. I don’t mean hard, I mean, they don’t have nearly enough responses. As I said before, this is coming from someone who only has one zone left to unlock, I have 45 out of 50 chests (by the way, can someone tell me if that’s how many I should have before the last zone is unlocked?) also the souls you get from bosses isn’t the end of the world but those special ones you get from the 10th 20th and other benchmark bosses become locked for a very long time once you reach a plateau in bosses.

All in all, it’s like they made it into a huge money grab, I used to only have to worry about buying crystals. Every once in a while, now there’s never enough purple souls, never enough of those ultra, rare souls, and Stardust? Forget about it. They could give you 500 for free a day and it would still take weeks to get certain upgrades.

2.0 needs some fixing

I just cant stand how before 2.0 I had the game pretty much beaten. I could kill every enemy easily besides those giant grim reapers that come in the last 2 or 3 zones. Im now in Nightwood (2nd to last zone, I basically speedran it too the island beforehand (isle of the damned?). That took me a couple days, but now on nightwood there are purp bosses I cant even beat.

I don’t understand the whole rage system, it seems. I only get up to two bars every time. Is the third bar something you have to unlock in the skill tree? I have four out of five of the skill trees unlocked, and also I can’t figure out what that random door where the main spawn is, just north. You can do as much damage to it as you want, but it will always be zero unless you have a staff?? where am I supposed to get a staff and what is this new life steal stat?

If anyone can help me farm souls faster, and not have to seemingly play a week straight just to beat this stage, I’d appreciate it. What upgrades should I prioritize, does the page matter that the upgrades are on? Like if I do some upgrades on page one, is it technically a waste since I have page 4 already unlocked?

Also, I don’t know what the boss ladders go up to, but I’ve only beaten the level 20 mark on one boss so far, I got two level 24. Now I can’t upgrade anything that takes a boss soul or those weird looking, golden or purple snail, looking souls.

Quick question on Jenny

So Ive been watching all the episodes of this season available to me, its about 6 or 7. Is there something wrong with Jenny that I missed? Some sort of brain injury? Perhaps just a bit slow? Or is it as simple as a speech impediment making it so shes permanently monotone?

Im generally curious and mean no disrespect. I ask as a Medical Assistant, It seems that theres a disconnect somewhere in the brain sending messages to whatever part of the brain controls speech-in which she can only do it at about 25% speed of the average human.

Latest Lit By The Lake drop

good afternoon everyone,

I first discovered lit by the lake last spring/summer, and it quickly rose to the top Three “brands” due to the quality of the smoke, bag, appeal, and all around effects. It’s been about nine or 10 months now since I ran out of the last strain I had by them.

Unfortunately, from the reviews I’ve seen here- it seems the major consensus is that the quality dropped a little bit. A lot of people are complaining that they should be labeled smalls and probably have a bit lower price point. I honestly don’t care if they’re smalls, even one jar of roemer farms Cap Junkie I got which contained about 44 small buds (as an eighth!!) which I totally hated at first and felt like I got ripped off, actually became a strain I really liked. The bags I’ve seen reviews with pictures of are nowhere near that small, looks like maybe 10 to 12 small buds at most.

What concerns me is people saying the cure quality went down, and it’s trims arent done as well. So I actually have two questions.

If you’ve purchased any of the two or three New lit by the lake drops, how would you rate it compared to maybe Alpine agronomy, North Fork cannabis, six point cannabis, leadfarmer, oasis cannabis, Misty Bleu Farms (although if your living near NYC like me you may have never had the pleasure of trying their beautiful flower), TKC, even doobie labs as I heard they really stepped their quality up.

The other question would be, where is it available right now? I’m from the Suffolk Nassau borderline, so I gladly go into Queens or Brooklyn if I know it will be fire. I don’t know why, but it seems like weed, Maps and Dutchie and all those services fail me when I’m looking for a specific company. Being that probably most of the sub is in the downstate area (Long Island, five boroughs, Westchester County, and just north of there. I’m sure the rest is people from the remaining big cities in New York like the capital District, Buffalo, Syracuse, and maybe some Rochester. Obviously those are all out of the question lol… but if you’ve gotten any fire lit by the lake in the city area or maybe just north of it, let me know!

I also heavily recommend Tamara junkie by oasis Canada. Whoever posted the review of it, I thank you. besides big apple by TKS and Sensi, almost all of the Alpine agronomy strains, the star dawg Kush from six star Cana, Tricho Jordan by lead farmer, I must say this was my best pick up of the year besides possibly the 2026 Alpine drops and the TKS big apple. The other two are almost there, but honestly it’s the best looking bud I’ve seen since I got Latoya Bay and John Truffulta a week after the drop by alpine, and it has much better bag appeal than big apple by TKS, but the taste is just a point or two under.

So please, help me decide whether this job is worth picking up Aunt where I can pick it up. Being that I’ve never been let down by them before I’ll probably get it no matter what, but there’s nothing more disappointing than a brand that you’ve had in your top three or top five for over a year, only to wait eight months for a job and find the quality fell off, even if just a bit. Thanks so much for the long read everybody, and if anyone replies, thanks even more! Gonna go blaze up some strawberry push pop by North Fork cannabis Co. as the sales were great this weekend and that’s one of those rare $64 strains before tax that you’ll end up paying 70 and 84. I can only justify that when there are good sales. I will say, the strawberry push pop has one of the most relaxing, but still completely alert and not dumped down Indica effects I’ve ever felt. For 10 to 20 minutes I honestly felt like you do about a half hour after they wake you up from anesthesia, one of the most relaxed feelings you can have. Great bud and highly recommend if theres still sales anywhere.

Cannabis realm White Plains

Hey all! Quick question here, Im from the nassau/suffolk border area, have 3 dispensaries within like 5-7 miles from me but use happy days the most as the menu is the best….However it seems as if you dont check the menu daily or at least every other day, you might see something you didnt think theyd ever have/ get back in, yet 24-48 hours its gone. Literally just happened 3 weeks ago with blue lobster (doobie labs) Was gone in a day and a half.

So heres my question, Obviously Cannabis realm is a decent drive (over an hour easy…getting off Long Islands a nightmare). Im amazed with their menu though, they literally have EVERY microgrow breeders flower that im interested in besidea Misty Bleu farms. However, they have the COA on their website site, and I greatly appreciate the websites that add that, its pretty rare.

The normal answer would be “just ask to look at the coa or the prep date/ package date on the jar. Problem is-driving 3 hours round trip to grab a bunch of strains that none of the burroughs typically carry and ive been wanting to try for months, just to find out it was harvested in september and its hard to even pick out the flavor notes. Basically-how many of you were very happy with your purchase and it was nice and fresh, and how many got dry weed thats just a little danker smell than hay.

Ok so, just went and got all the delicious alpine alchemy that’s recirculating back around, I love the glass jars theyve been using since end jan/early Feb. However, upon inspecting my label….I just noticed this. Peep the packaging date lmao. Im guessing thats just a typo? If your unable to zoom in, very sorry bc you are probably so confused. It says it was packaged 12/10/2026. Unless im permafried, that wont be for another 7+ months lol.

I also picked up their Banafffy taffy, which says packaged 02/26/26….Also strange bc they were purchased at the same store, same time, and one sticker has the full year (2026 which is wrong, Dec. 2026 has not happened yet 🤣) and one just says 26 for the year instead of the full 2026. Do the bud stock people in the store put those stickers on? I learned today that Alpine is all ran for the moat part by 3 people!!! Thats amazing
