Hobby Lobby's Penny Policy is to KEEP my PENNIES

Despite Hobby Lobby’s Christian beliefs, today I learned that Jesus does not believe I should receive correct change because Hobby Lobby did not give me my pennies. I was shorted two pennies in my change. The receipt says Hobby Lobby made an adjustment. It was in their favor. I was surprised because they have taken such strong Christian stands in their policies and lawsuits, but that does not apply to giving me my change. The federal government no longer making pennies is not an excuse. If my position that I should receive my correct change is so frivolous, Hobby Lobby’s position that they should keep my change is no less frivolous.

I know, I know that corporations have all sorts of reasons and excuses for what they do when it benefits them.

Even Walmart is giving me my change.

quit after orientation

So, I had just finished orientation later today, but I had to quit bc it genuinely was a strain on my spine ( I have scoliosis ) and even after telling the assistant manager who handled my interview on tuesday, they had me sit for 4 hours in a cramped room on a shitty metal chair. none of the videos had audio or were what I NEEDED, even the video for operating the cash register itself was in optional. When I finished all the videos, the manager had given me a cart of "go-backs" ( cart full of stuff in the wrong areas that you have to return ) and I wasn't given a tour of the building, she just sent me off to return things when I didn't know where they went. Another employee also said that during busier times, you have to share lockers, which I'm not leaving my phone and wallet where someone else can access easily. Was I wrong for quitting the day of orientation ??? It was a seasonal job either way but my first regardless and my parents both agreed it wasn't smart on managements end. Was I too quick to judge this or was it a smart call on my end for leaving?

EDIT: No, this isn't a vent about spinal issues, rather a vent about the MANAGEMENT issues at the stkre near me, not every other Hobby Lobby. I know my spine will kill me regardless of what I do please try to understand this :(

barcodes?

I’m thinking about applying to hobby lobby to work as a cashier but i’ve heard that they don’t use barcodes and you have to type everything in by hand. Do you have to memorize a bunch of things to do this? Or is there a cheat sheet and you just type in those numbers?

I only need a job for a few months, is this job something I should apply to or something to run far away from? Thank you!!!

Kicked Out of Hobby Lobby

Last night I was excited to start getting fall decor to get in the autumn spirit; I saw B&BW had BOGO candles, and WalMart had their fall kcups. As these two are in a strip mall by me with a Hobby Lobby, I made the trek out (via tram, as I don’t have a car)

I usually carry one or two reusable bags with me to help with carrying items sturdily, as I don’t have a vehicle to put my bags in in-between stores. I went to walmart first, filled up one of my reusable bags, and then proceeded next to Hobby Lobby. I was looking at the fall items but ultimately searching for these wall decorations I’d seen in a tik tok (lol) of like the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, Charlie Brown, and other characters. All i’d seen from the tik tok was they were on one of the back walls. After not finding anything in the fall sections, I walked the perimeter of the store peering down each aisle at the back walls to see if i could find those plaques or whatever they were.

Again, I strike out. I’m making my way back around towards the front of the store, but see the fall colored floral stems and stop to gander at those. While doing so, an employee comes up to me and starts calling to me. I had my headphones in, so I take them out and greet her. she immediately tells me I need to leave. I was confused, I looked around like is she talking to me? so i ask why/what i’ve done? the employee proceeds to look me up and down, then go “suspicion of shoplifting” i go HUH??? but what am i to do, argue with someone in a store im clearly not welcome in and give them my money?

i’m a gay male, had my nails painted black, but was dressed rather modestly in jean shorts that went down to my knees and a long sleeve sweater shirt with a heart on the back. none of my tattoos were visible (not that any of this should matter, but i will admit one of them is a skeleton hand giving the middle finger- again, this was NOT visible at the store). the way she had looked me up and down and then said shoplifting led me to believe that was a reason she came up with to cover why I actually was, but can’t shake that they would profile like that? could it have been my reusable bags? does no one else at a strip mall go from one store to the next?

What is a Code B

I frequently shop at hobby lobby and I have been hearing code b when I enter the store. Is that a store specific code or a general code used by hobby lobby.

Former workers of hobby lobby, what was your experience?

I recently had my seasonal employment end early because I wasn't "productive enough", when asking what I should've been doing since I was still very new and apparently cleaning between tasks isn't productive, they didn't tell me what I should've done so they let me go... So I'm curious, whats everyone else's experience with the store?

The Google-y eyes are a part of the printed picture

Yep. This is not a 3D picture. I thought some customers were doing this.

Direct Deposit

Hi! I’m a new employee and was wondering if anybody can tell me the website I use to setup my direct deposit? I was told I could do it from home but wasn’t given a link to set up an account to do all that.
