Mannerless people

Went to Hong Kong Airport today, was looking for place to seat and enjoy my dinner, was standing in front of an empty table waiting for it to be cleaned by the cleaner lady, suddenly out of nowhere one old auntie sprinted toward our table full throttle and sit on the table while it was still getting cleaned on. Gave the auntie a look and she was like 😒. Tf?

Wtf with the manner here, happened twice while I’m here in HK for 4 days.

#For the comment section wondering if it’s mainlanders or hongkongs

After a while, 3 other auntie joined the first auntie and start speaking canto. Besides that, some of milder mannerless behavior I observed here:

  1. Ordering in a restaurant, hasn’t even finished half of the order, they went away and input the order as is without confirming.
  2. Blasting canto even though I clearly stated I do not understand (in english and mandarin though they should know I can’t speak canto)
  3. No queuing at all, MTR, bus, even breakfast in hotel
  4. Nobody ever said thanks?

Although I would say this makes HongKong very unique and I gained alot of experiences now to deal with people here xD (no hate, peace!)

How do you use Kiro CLI for development?

I’m always developing app on IDE, but I heard some devs are using cli to code and plan?
Am I missing something? I thought kiro cli doesn’t permit file or folder creation?
And how would you manage different chats with their own contexts?

(Interested in learning to use the cli 🙈)

Halo dev indo! Looking for active tech Discords/communities

Halo everyone!

I’m currently on a journey building out startup projects, but doing this completely solo is getting tough. It’s hard to stay motivated in a vacuum, and I'm really looking to connect with my fellow Indonesian developers, builders, and mentors.

I’ve been trying to find active spaces to share progress, trade feedback, or just vent about bugs, but it’s been a struggle to find the "real" active hubs.

My questions for the tech crowd here:

  • Where do Indonesian devs actually hang out online? Are there specific Discord servers, Telegram groups, or Slack channels that are genuinely active?
  • Where is the best place to find mentors or experienced builders who love to talk shop about architecture, SaaS, or bootstrapping?
  • Are there any low-key communities for indie builders who are trying to launch their own products?

If you are a developer, an aspiring founder, or someone who just wants to jump on a call/chat to talk tech and stop the solo grind, please drop a comment or shoot me a DM. Let’s connect!

Where is the real startup community in Taiwan?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently focused on the startup space in Taiwan, working on getting a few projects off the ground. I’m trying to connect with other founders, builders, and anyone aspiring to launch a business here, but I’m having a brutally hard time finding the right community.

I know the entrepreneurial talent is here, but it feels like all the local founders, indie hackers, and early-stage creators are operating completely hidden????

Career path struggle - CSE

Currently working in the support team as a CSE, although the comp aren’t that bad, I feel burnt out talking to customers all the time. I have no idea if there’s any team that’s a career progression after CSE other than TAM or SA (which includes more customer facing interaction)

I’m not very good at coding and although I would say I’m fairly knowledgeable about cloud infrastructure I don’t think they would wanna take someone from support team. Of course it would be great if they would take someone newbie like me to the development team but is unlikely.

Wondering if anyone has the same trouble as I do and any advice would be greatly appreciated!
