Socializing
How did you learn the “rules” of how to interact with people in social situations?
I’m definitely not “neurotypical” but I haven’t been diagnosed with anything developmental at this point.
Help! Cooking breakfast for family?
My husband works graveyard and gets home at 7:00am tired and starving.
I’d love to have something warm and ready for him to eat, and he prefers eggs/breakfast type food even though it’s kind of his “dinner”. He’s able/willing to cook for himself, but I’d like to do it for him at least a couple days per week
Even if I can get up, I’m still so asleep that I don’t want to use knives or the stove for a good 30 minutes, so I’d need to wake up at 6:30am which is just not going to happen let’s be real.
I’ve seen the Suvie thing and am curious if it might be worth it for breakfast meals? If I can preload everything before I go to bed and have it timed to be ready when he gets home right at 7:00 that sounds like a dream.
Literally I’d be able to stay in bed and keep dreaming while he gets fed lol 😂
Should I switch therapists?
Looking for insight or advice from professionals that have a different perspective.
I’ve had the same therapist for 2 years. I see them through a local clinic but over telehealth.
I feel that I am at a standstill with my progress though.
Each session we end up discussing theology (we are both Christian, but from different denominations) rather than my emotional processes and interpersonal relationships. I am finding it frustrating and unhelpful and don’t know how to steer the conversation back to actual therapy.
Even if we have a good session where religion isn’t side-tracking us, my therapist talks a lot, to the point that I have to interrupt frequently to say much… But I’ve also had some decent progress and have had some breakthroughs, which wouldn’t be possible if my therapist wasn’t doing a good job right?
Part of me feels like I’m in a better place overall lately and maybe I don’t need therapy right now, but I haven’t been told by the therapist that I’m good to go either.
I'm still too much of a people pleaser to just end it and find a new therapist, since I'm worried about hurting therapist's feelings too… I legitimately do think I need an in-person therapist now so I could use that angle without being confrontational.
Going off depression meds for MSLT?
I finally got a sleep doctor/neurologist, but they are wanting me to come off of my Cymbalta medication for 2 weeks before my sleep study.
After they confirm suspected idiopathic hypersomnia, then maybe they'll have me try Sunosi to stay awake or at least functioning for more than 5 hrs a day.
I've been dragging my feet on scheduling it since I've tried reducing my meds before. It's not a good time.
They made it sound like if I'm absolutely miserable, then they'll let me stay on the meds for the test, but only if I try to come off of them. I don't understand the point since I'm dead tired either way, even worse when I'm not on my SNRI actually.
Is it worth it? I'm afraid of ruining my whole summer being cranky/depressed with the whole process.
Tío in Mexico is sick, 3 months to live
Has anyone had success getting AP that quickly?
The doctor told him he has three months to live, but we don’t think we can get a letter to prove it in the application. Any advice? Is it worth trying?
