is anyone else dealing with this right now? i had a video appointment at 12:10 today but the website will not send a code to log in on either my laptop or phone. i called the number too in order to at least try and get it sorted, pressed 3 and it beeps a few times then cuts me off. i’m not sure what’s happening and if it’s a bug on their end or not?
First of all, I understand that first and foremost this is a reality show so the focus will be and should always be on entertainment but I have made an observation this year, more than any other: the edit is barley focusing on the actual couples at all!!
It has always been this way a little; focusing on drama over happiness (which I understand) but I feel like I could not tell you really a single thing about these couples and why they like each other because we’ve barely been shown moments between them outside of arguments.
Lola and Sean, for example, were coupled up from day one and before casa and Lola started being insane towards Julia, they got literally no screentime as a couple. We barely saw any conversations between the two of them.
Similarly with Mica and Samraj, he was seemingly whipped by Mica from like day 1 and took her back with pretty much no complaints but… why? We as an audience kind of have no idea because they simply show us nothing in the final edit.
Again with Ellie and Finley, she was saying he could be the one VERY quickly into them meeting each other but… why? Again, because we have seen so little between them that shows that, we are just told it.
Jasmine and Kavan got back together, stopped arguing and have had 0 screentime since.
Don’t even get me started on the absolute ghost edit of Yasmin and Tommy. They seemingly like each other a lot but we pretty much have no idea why because they get about 1 minute of screentime per week.
Ultimately I wish we got a little more actual moments between all of the couples rather than just arguments and villa fall-outs and resolutions of the arguments. In my mind, there is no excuse for us being so far into the show now and knowing barely anything about anyone. The thing that really sold it for me has been the last couple episodes and the focus on the absolute nothingness of the “triangle” between Priya, Aidan and Ethan. These people literally do not like each other so why are we wasting time, so close to the final, on this manufactured, boring drama when we couple be focusing on the actual pre-established connections!!
I feel like the only couple we ever see actual conversations between are Lorenzo and Julia tbh and even then, not very often.
(Also, completely unrelated, where tf have the challenges gone?!)
