Nearly 30% drop in B12 in a year

42 year old female with heavy menstruation bleeding.

Results exactly a year apart - B12 was 522 last year and 367 this year. NHS classes anything above 350 as normal.

My ferritin was 23 (NHS classes anything above 15 as normal) last year and frustratingly wasn’t tested this year so I’m going to ask for this.

I’m having some worsening symptoms, particularly fatigue. Walking for 15 minutes at a leisurely pace has me lying on the sofa for 40 minutes to recover. Brain fog-struggling to get my thoughts straight before speaking and having to restart, feels like muscle pains in my thigh, feel shaky and weak at times, floaters in my vision.

I think I was taking B12 in a multivitamin last year but not this year.

Is there need to investigate further?

Omnidirectional Wheel Jammed

I’ve only had my Saros 10 for two months and can count on two hands how many times it’s been used. A few weeks ago I got the omnidirectional wheel jammed error but this resolved itself with an update. It’s now happened again and I’ve taken the wheel out of the base and cleaned it (although there was nothing there).

Has anyone had this issue? Customer support want me to send it in for repair.

Boundary fence repairs

I’d really appreciate some advice on my predicament as I’m at the end of my tether.

My home (NI) is located beside a steep, wooded embankment. At the top of the embankment is a boundary fence separating the development from a public footpath, bus lay-by and a busy 50mph road.

We have lived here for 12 years and I have relentlessly pursued the developers and now management company to address this issue.

The fence has deteriorated badly over a number of years and now has large gaps. As a result, a large number of residents (mostly young people) regularly use it as a shortcut between the road and the development, climbing over the fence and down the bank.

This has led to:
Regular trespassing through the development
Children/teenagers hanging around the bank
Littering and anti-social behaviour
Damage to trees and landscaping
Bikes and scooters being thrown over the fence
Concerns about safety given the steep bank and proximity to a busy road

The managing agent initially told me that replacing the fence would require shareholder approval. However, they have now also stated that the development has insufficient funds and any major works would need to be paid for in advance.

My questions are:

Can a residents’ management company legitimately require a shareholder vote for something like boundary fence replacement?

Is this normally a director decision rather than a shareholder decision?

If the company accepts responsibility for the fence, can lack of funds simply be used as a reason not to carry out the work?

Previous boundary fencing works elsewhere on the development were carried out without any shareholder vote, so is it reasonable to ask why this situation is being treated differently?

Does the ongoing safety and liability aspect (people accessing a steep embankment beside a busy road through a failed boundary fence) change anything?

Is an MCS cert for solar important in NI?

Might be a stupid question but…

I’ve been gathering quotes for solar setup and have come across a few seemingly reputable, well-established companies that will not be able to provide an MCS certificate.

When asked, they’ve said that installation is completed to MCS guidelines/standards and their staff are accredited MCS members but because they’re contractors, I won’t get a certificate.

It seems to be that an MCS certificate for exporting purposes is a requirement for energy companies here, although I suppose this could change in the future.

Some neighbours and a friend have all used companies where they haven’t received an MCS certificate. Should this be a deal breaker?

Quote check please - NI

QUOTE
£12850

Aiko Solar panels 465w x21 (x12 North East and x9 South West) = 9.77 kWh system size

Sigen 6 kWh inverter

Sigen battery 10 kWh

Sigen ev charger £1150

G99/G100 Fast track application

Gateway HomePro SP

Bird mesh

Is 10 kWh (9 usable) battery enough?

Don’t really need the gateway because we live in the city but I’ve opted for it anyway. I did get cheaper quotes for other brands but have decided on Sigenergy and appreciate that comes with a premium.

My usage is around 3500 kWh per year.

Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Swap my Tiguan for an EV?

Currently have a 2020 VW Tiguan 1.5 TSi Evo Match 150PS Petrol.

We’re getting solar installed (and car charger if I swap) and this has prompted me to consider swapping to an EV. We usually buy our cars 3 year old and run into the ground. Car is due to be paid off (loan) within 20 months and has been valued at £15k. However, engine is undersized and it’s a clunky drive with awful acceleration. I do around 15-20 miles per day to work and back, and spend around £140-180 per month on petrol. I’m in NI so our current overnight charging rate is around 16p.

Husband has a diesel estate which is fairly new and we plan to keep this for our main family car.

Do I sell my car and buy an EV? Am I mad to consider one around £20k?
