Did I mess up? I agreed a price with a plasterer to do some work in my home. I paid him a 40% deposit and we agreed a date which he would start the work. I have been trying to contact him to confirm he will start next week as agreed. He is not answering my calls and I feel ghosted by him. If he doesn't respond and start date passes would I be within my rights to start small claims proceedings against him to get my money back. Its £820.
