Why? I mean... They are ranked the same , okay , but we have exceptions like doma (upper 6 in gyutaro back story) and rui who are stronger than their rank.

Now , excluding feats , only through narrative , kaigaku = gyutaro , right? Through ONLY narrative , no feats , aren't all hashira equal coz they are ranked the same as "hashira"? Or at best you could argue that some hashira have better narrative than others , so they can be ranked on top, still , how tf do you rank hashira with less or no narrative. Remember , this is only based on narrative and only based on narrative , no feats for hashira just like kaigaku , only narrative. For example , gyomei , sanemi , rengoku and tengen have much higher narrative than others but isn't it true that tengen and rengoku are obviously weaker than others, especially marked... Just because they are ranked the same , doesn't mean they are equally powerful , even irl , it works like that. Not every ceo has grown their company or received an equal salary
