Bench - stuck at 70 kg x 4

Been running Madcow 5x5 since February 2026, with excellent results for my squat and deadlift, but my bench progress leaves much to be desired. Idk why I’m having problems with lockout and unracking the weight. I’ve even been incorporating dumbbell accessory work for my chest and triceps on my off days. Any tips would be welcome

5’8”, 88 kg
5RM: squat 127.5 kg, deadlift 152.5 kg, squat 70 kg but only up to 4 reps

Bullmoose bars + Deore/SLX drivetrain + 26” wheels = my version of an ATB

Not the fastest bike I’ve ridden but definitely one of the most fun. Kinda wanna polish my cranks, in keeping with the retro/classic aesthetic. Been having some problems with my derailleur going out of alignment when hitting speed bumps, too, so my shifting isn’t the smoothest. Been fun tinkering, though.

Afternoon x-biking

I didn’t really have any plans with this short ride, but I had a lot of fun. Went to my usual spots and tried out the mini-trails, which were no longer being maintained. I even tried riding around the makeshift football field. I would’ve gone for a snack but I had to go home. Lots of smiles per mile

Really enjoying this bike. Haven’t gotten the chance to bring it to a proper trail, might do it when I put some gears on it. I’m almost done replacing all the purple components with silver ones. The straps are temporary until my front rack and 2nd bottle cage arrive.

I sold my Surly Pack Rat to a friend back in 2023 and was effectively without a bike for years. Thought I would outgrow the hobby but after a while I kept thinking that I wanted to ride again. After some prompting by my friends, I picked up this retro modern single speed 26er made by a local framebuilder. Rediscovered my love for bike riding within seconds of getting on it.

I intend to make this a do-everything ATB, built for exploring, commuting to the gym and the store, and the occasional gravel/trail ride. Most of the changes for now will be aesthetic since I’m not a fan of the purple parts. I intend to keep it single speed for a while, but it does have a rear derailleur mount for when I inevitably go on some longer, more hilly rides.
