Hats Off to Sammy Swindell on a legendary career [From 2025 Nationals]
Felt like a real top class send off tonight and wanted to share this image that I took of Sammy during the Nationals last year. Legend.

Felt like a real top class send off tonight and wanted to share this image that I took of Sammy during the Nationals last year. Legend.
We weren't sure what the weather was going to be like on race day at the 500 this year, so we got 7AM entry tickets to the museum. It was a great time to get there and watch the place come alive and avoid potential weather.
I documented the trip on my Canonet QL-17 35mm camera, primarily in black and white. I'm quite fond of shooting Kodak Tri-X 400 that we develop at home. Photography is a real mindfulness activity for me at events like these and gives me the chance to re-live the little moments weeks later.
The museum is overflowing with history and character. Seeing the ultramodern cars right next to the early challengers for the race is a treat. The renovation made it a must see for any fan. I hope you'll get a feeling for what it felt like to be there.
