[Japanese > English] ま used on its own in YouTube transcript and subtitles

I'm currently immersing myself with a very professional-sounding podcast and I'm seeing lots of ま's multiple times in a sentence. I've considered it might be an error in the auto-generation of the videos because four.Jisho.org doesn't have anything on it, but even searching around a lot, I haven't found anything on it.

I've attached a good example picture. I don't need a full translation (feel free for the flex tho), I'd just appreciate the explanation for what it means in this context.

If I need to clarify anything or you need more context, let me know and I should get back to you.

EDIT: Thank you so much to everyone who helped out. I figured it was a common word but I didn't expect it to literally be sort of a pause word. My curiosity has been satiated. Here's the video at any rate:

RL 400 build. Yup, you heard me.

All natural, very minimal Albunaric farming. I recently hit 300 hrs on this file, and I'm on ng+ 4.

Anyways, here's everything.

Full solitude set cuz I love my drip.

Quality Milady +25 with wingstance in 1st right hand, quality dagger +25 with endure in the 2nd right hand.

Erdtree Seal +10 in 1st left hand, Bolt of Gransax in my 2nd left hand.

For talismans, I have Shard of Alexander, Two-Headed Turtle Talisman, Rellana's Cameo, and Old Lord's Talisman (for juggling buffs). I can't be bothered with the multi-hit talismans because I suck at keeping pressure on a boss, so I just keep Old Lord's Talisman for convenience.

Stats:

Vigor: 99

Mind: 40

Endurance: 60

Strength: 80

Dexterity: 80

Intelligence: 20

Faith: 80

Arcane: 20

I have this spread for convenience. I can have almost any weapon with an intelligence scaling. Wing of Astel, Fallingstar Beast Jaw, etc. I'm planning on getting to 23 Int eventually just so I can use Moonveil, and 23 Arc for Marais Executioner's Sword. Though of course, Milady and Bloodhound's Fang are my two favorite choices right now, so I doubt I'll switch anytime soon.

My spells are there for convenience and to fill in gaps. ADLS for large enemies, Pest Thread Spears as a projectile (though Knight's Lightning Spear is debatable). Rotten butterflies for rot, Greyoll's Roar for the debuff and AoE (its damage isn't half bad). And of course my buffs. Golden Vow for aura buff, and electrify armament for weapon buff. I switch between a lot of things for my body buff, mainly the elemental buffs, Black Flame Protection(got me through Malenia), boiled crab, and as you can see, Flame Grant Me Strength.

My tears are Opaline Hardtear and Lightning-Shrouding Cracked Tear.

If you're wondering about my dagger, it has endure on it. I just equip it, use endure, and tank hits while casting ADLS or Rotten butterflies.

That's it. I really love this file so much because it's been so fun testing out a ton of different builds through the new game cycles. I know this build information is probably useless to most people, I just wanted to showcase it

Pest Thread Spears or Knight's Lightning Spear?

Just these two. Full debate, all situations.

I suspect most people are going to say Knight's Lightning Spear, but I keep Pest Thread Spears instead of it. My reasoning, Pest Thread Spears works better against larger enemies because it hits multiple times, better against ancient dragons than ADLS, and a lot easier to get off than ADLS.

Yes, lightning is a good damage type, but I like physical damage more because it's more consistent across the board. Yes, enemies don't input read Knight's Lightning Spear, but Pest Thread Spears move slowly and has such good tracking that it doesn't matter, they aren't dodging that.

In narrow hallways or behind doorframes, KLS works better. Peeking over ledges or atop pointed roofs, PTS works better.

Damage-wise, I think they're pretty close, with KLS having an advantage, but not by too much.

EDIT: This did pretty good y'all. I got a ton of good info here. seriously, thank you so much for all your replies. if I do another one of these, should it be on r/EldenRingBuilds , or the general r/Eldenring?
