Need advice

Hi everyone, I need some advice regarding my Lenovo

Legion Pro 5i Gen 9 (i7-14650HX & RTX 4060).

A while ago, the right heatsink area of the chassis

cracked because of dropped, and the entire body/case was replaced under ADP (Damage Protection).

However, after bringing it home, I noticed the laptop is

running incredibly hot.

Even at idle, the CPU sits around 70°C. When gaming,

the CPU hits 100℃C+ and the GPU reaches 75°C+. For context, before the case replacement, my GPU never went past 62° under the exact same conditions (and yes, I am using a Flydigi BS2 Pro cooling pad).

I contacted Legion Ultimate Support, and they

arranged a repaste and further inspection. I took it to a different authorized service center this time because

it's much closer to my house. After checking, the tech

told me the thermal paste was dried up.

Here is the weird part: they suggested that I buy my

own thermal paste and thermal putty, and bring it to

them so they can apply it and they force me to use

kyronauts and specific putty cause i want use ptm7950 and they say thermal pad it not used for gaming laptop

I have a few questions for the community:

Is this actually standard procedure for Lenovo

Support? Since when do customers have to provide

their own thermal interface materials for a warranty

service?

Should I let them fix it, or should I take it back to the

first service center (or a different one)?

Could dried-up paste really cause this sudden, massive temp spike right after a body replacement? I bought this laptop in 2024.

Side note: The authorized service center also claimed

that 70°C at idle is "normal" and hitting 100°C when spike is normal

Possible heatsink problem after dropped or dry paste?

Side note: The authorized service center also claimed that 70°C at idle is "normal" and hitting 100°C is perfectly fine, which sounds like total BS to me given my previous temps.

(I am attaching photos of the initial damage and current temps for reference, the last picture when is it in idle mode)

im used AI to translate because of my poor writing..
