After 4 years with my MM+ I decided to do a major upgrade to improve a little bit my gaming sessions.
You can find these buttons on Etsy by searching for “GetBetterButtons”. To be honest these buttons are not cheap, but if you have the money to spend, do it… it’s like night and day.
Bought the Magic Trackpad a few months ago hoping to have a similar MacBook-typing-experience while working at my desk, without using a mouse. It didn’t work. 1) The Magic Trackpad is bigger than the MBP trackpad, 2) you can’t match the MBP exact layout, because of the height difference between these guys, 3) it’s not possible to have the palm of your hands, the trackpad and the keyboard in the same surface level.
Looking for a solution, I found the tray idea. It worked like a charm. This specific one has an amazing layout because it solves the challenges that I mentioned.
No planned obsolescence here. Joking apart, this is one of the best little personal tech projects that I’ve worked this year.
Logitech did such an amazing job on this mouse that I didn’t want to throw it in the garbage because of the nasty rubber coating. If you’re not tech-savvy it will not be easy to do the shell replacement mod, but with patience you will succeed. It took me some hours to disassemble, clean and reassemble the mouse, but now it’s better than ever and ready for more 6 years.
