I would like to learn from you

I’m deciding between two of the next releases, Rose Anvil Blood Hunters and Iron Snails Chukkas. Both would mean a big investment 😅 and I would like to feel good with my decision (I know that probably both boots are excellent).

I would like to know if you can please share the lists of pros and cons for the people in this sub that have either of them or both.

I like to hike (but I already have a pair of Danners), go out to brunch or have dinner in the city but I also work at an office with an occasional field visits.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

BLCKBRD Chukka boots

I I’m wearing BLCKBRD Chukka Lucas for a week now. They are a great and inexpensive pair of boots.

First, the actual boot: they are the Lucas unlined ox reverse snuff, and I must say that they look a bit different from the web pictures. I noticed that the midsole came out a bit redder, but I like them. The sizing is strange. When I purchased them, I followed their recommendation and asked for a half size down to Brannock 8D. Then, I received a WhatsApp message to confirm the size. They ask for your Brannock or what you wear in sneakers, and I told them so they changed my order to an 8.5D. When I received them, they came with an extra leather-lined foam insert. Without it, they fill roomy, but with it, they feel snug. Not uncomfortable, but the insert is kind of simple, and probably I will change it in the future, probably a Saddle Sole from RA.

The service and lead time: they actually care to inform you in which step they are when building your pair. And I ordered them on March 28th and received them on May 1st, so their 2-4 weeks are accurate.

Overall, I really like them. I was looking for a well-made Chukka boot, and even though some people here are hesitant of BLCKBRD because they are Indian, I’m happy to say that I recommend them, and their boots are very well made and high quality.

Yesterday I bought this pair when walking in a mall, I was extremely surprised at the build quality of this Superstars. I then realized that these were part of the Made in Italy collection. I paid almost $450 USD (converted) which may seem excessive but given that I almost 100% transitioned from sneakers to handmade boots, these are the best of both worlds.

With Goodyear welt, full leather stacked midsole and supple nubuck leather these are leagues ahead of any other premium sneaker.

Hope you appreciate the photos! What are your opinion on these?

I was very excited for the Rose Anvil x Goral monkey boot but then I realized that Goral doesn’t ship to my country. I really fell in love with the monkey boot aesthetic; I also watch RA recent video about them and he said that the most true to shape/design are Dr Martens even thought they are not the best quality.

Do you have in mind any brand that has a similar design to Goral’s? Or what you consider a true monkey boot? As I note, I really dig the “M” stitch.

Thanks a lot in advance!!

I’m very much new to watches and I’m looking into buying my first proper watch. I really like Hamilton Khakis as a low profile, entry level watch but I see there are a lot of versions of the khaki with different price points. Can you please help me to know what are these differences? Which version is the best in your opinion?

Thanks in advance!!
