Im at a loss

18 M. My throat has been messed up for a while, and I don’t know what’s the cause. Now, when I eat too close to bedtime I’m guaranteed to reflux, but I don’t notice anything that actively causes reflux during the day. I pretty much tolerate all food the same, and I don’t notice any throat changes after I consume something like a chocolate protein shake.

My symptoms are globus, sore throat, difficulty speaking without straining, dry mouth. When I used to eat too close to bed I’d wake up with my throat destroyed and I’d feel nauseous.

When the ENT doctor examined me via the endoscope, she found nothing wrong except for something she described as a “fullness” that she couldn’t quite identify. She then sent me to get a CT scan (without contrast) and they didn’t notice anything amiss. The fact that it was a CT scan without contrast might be the problem.

I’m just not sure what the issue is since there’s been small periods of time within the last year where this problem was reduced and my throat felt better and I didn’t switch my diet nor the times I ate dinner. Also the fact that ENT didn’t see any inflammation or anything indicative of LPR in my throat with it feeling as bad as it did is suspicious.
I just don’t know. There was a correlation between my humidifier and my throat feeling better though.

Edit: forgot to mention that I’ve been experiencing this problem on and off ever since I caught COVID in 2023 and that it got worse last year. I’ve also had sleep apnea (starting from 2021; got corrected last year) and I might still have UARS.

I’m an 18M with an ENT appointment in 2 days. I also have potential sleep apnea and my voice problems started after I caught COVID 3 years ago. I’m 95% sure I have LPR. I’m also relatively skinny and have always ate healthy.

I’ve been experiencing this off and on for 2 years; vocal straining when trying to speak and waking up with my voice destroyed. My voice felt decent about a month or two ago before it started feeling terrible again. (Staying upright and waiting 2-4 hours after eating before bed has helped me slightly but I’m concerned about how pervasive the damage is)

I’m just wondering what I have in store for the future since having to put my voice through the wringer to communicate is heartbreaking. What have y’all done to regain the ability to speak?
