Level Progression Philosophies?

So I believe I have pretty decent base mechanics for my system, but since I have it so the players can progress, I fear there is something I haven't considered when it comes to leveling up. Are there any general schools of thought to consider when thinking about late game mechanics? Or is the only real solution play testing?

The Importance of the World Building

So I just completed my first play through of the game and while I have many thoughts about many things (in a good way), I gotta say, I do love how undetstanding Martinaise's history is integral to finding the truth.

I'll be honest, half the time characters dumped exposition about the setting, it did grow a bit tedious, but upon finding and learning more about the Deserter, it all clicks. Dros *is* Martinaise, broken and scarred by the Landings, like the District, hell- like the whole city, he is stuck in the last century and resents everyone who moved forward from the barbarity he witnessed. He watched the dream of the revolution that lived in his comrades be brutally cut down by Coalition Automatic Arms

Initially, I thought the world building of the revolution was of interest because it gave further context to the Union and the strike, but at the end of the investigation, I find that the revolution's shadow is long, casting its darkness into every nook and crany in Martinaise and it'll remain for a long, long time...

This might be a very surface level observation, but it's one of the many things that's been on my mind since completing my first play through. I would love to hear thoughts on this and perhaps expand on the subject.

I feel like I could write an essay on this game already, and I know there's so much I haven't done!

(I mean, for Christ-sake's, I didn't even get the Dora dream!)

Motivation trouble for Finishing my thesis

So my thesis film has been the most challenging animation project I've worked on thus far, and I am far from satisfied with it.

I submitted a condenced version for a passing grade and to be shown at my school's animation screening in April and reassured myself that I'd "finish the film later", like a lot of my fellow students in the same position. Thing is, I have barely touched it since then.

My main additions would primarily be a few shots that connect actions more clearly and a simple travel sequence near the beginning, but still, it's been 3 months, and I still don't feel confident about finishing it.

On top of that, my software subscriptions, courtesy of the school, expire at the end of August, so I'll need to act fast if I don't want things to be further complicated.

It makes me wonder how long burnout for something like this tends to last and if I should just let this go and work on something new.

But yeah, please let me know what you think, any and all thoughts and advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated 👍

How do I push this?

I can't explain it but I feel like my style is missing something that makes it pop idk if it's the color or rendering that has me stumped. Any thoughts?

There needs to be an age limit on how old people in office can be.

Recent events concerning a certain Kentucky Senator are a great example as to why

Just graduated school, how do I get over "Posting Anxiety"?

I just graduated from school (an art one) about a month ago and rarely post my work on social media. School definitely kept me occupied, and i did manage to make some things that i am proud of, but even still, i dont feel the motivation to post any of it.

I've tried every now and again with minimal success. I think this has made me subconsciously think I'm not actually good enough, and I shouldn't even try.

This in it of itself is self sabatoging, but I'm unsure of how to correct it. Are there any methods you use to get over this anxiety?

Also, if anything is unclear, please ask, and I can clarify as best I can.

Why was Mark's Coma 2 months instead of 9?

In "You Look Horrible" Mark is unconscious for about 2 months while the Viltrumite War rages. In the comic, apparently, he was out cold for about 9 months. When I learned this fact, I was somewhat anticipating things to deviate from the comic, maybe having something to do with the Eve subplot, but things have been pretty consistent with the events of the comic since.

Has there been any explanation or reason for this change? It seems inconsequential overall, yet now I'm curious why they changed it in the first place. It could also have later ramifications, but idk.

I always love it when I see a good fog effect being used in a game. Are there any good types for tabletop? just a quick search made me wonder if I should search for more specific kinds cause of the size/price range.
