Powerlifting and PCS

Any powerlifters or weight lighters out there with PCS? If so, would you mind sharing your journey?

I am not diagnosed yet, but in the process of being. Originally just had pelvic and stomach pain, but I’m now having a bunch of other symptoms, the main concerning one being tingling/nerve sensations in my legs.

Because I haven’t been diagnosed yet, I really don’t know what to do. Stopping training is probably not good for someone as active as I am. I also rely on exercise for mental health. However, I don’t want to make it worse. I notice when my pelvic area squished or restricted it does not feel good. I’ve stopped heavy hip thrusts for now. They definitely hurt the most. Squats and deadlifts though? Also, running? I do a bit of that too.

I would love to hear from anyone who is serious into training that might have some positive experiences to share. Like recovery after treatment. I’m worried I’ll never be able to train the same again. I love hip thrusts ):

Shopping and sight seeing in Crete?

Hi all,

Just arrived in Crete. We are here for 5 full days not including today.

We are staying in Chania. Where is the best area to go shopping for clothing and gifts. Are there any night markets or similar?

Also, best beaches and natural areas for sight seeing (we love nature and have a car so don’t mind driving).

Thank you!

Hello everyone!

I’m visiting Greece for the first time next week!

We land on May the 10th, spend 3 nights in Santorini. 3 nights in Milos, 5 nights in Crete and 3 nights in Zakynthos.

We are flying to Santorini and Zakynthos (via Athens) but taking the ferry for in between.

We are hiring a car in Crete and staying in Chania.

We love all things outdoors, would love some beach/walk/activity recommendations!

TIA

Hi everyone,

I seem to have ongoing issues with my SI joint. I’ve seen a physio and it got better, mostly from strengthening my abductors and adductors. But since then (over the last 7 months) I feel like the left side (injury side) has gotten really inflamed. I’ll roll my lower back, glute and around the hip (glute medius) with a ball and it provides good relief. But I don’t feel like I’m addressing the issue, only relieving the pain.

I tend to deadlift with my left foot forward by a couple cm’s. If I try to set my feet even, I struggle to bend my knees in unison and overall it just doesn’t work and I am sooo much weaker

I’m wondering a few things:

  1. Is it okay that one foot is slightly forward of the other in my deadlift set up? Or am I encouraging my body to become more twisted?

  2. Are there any exercises that are considered gold standard for SIJ injury recovery and prevention?

  3. Is any form of manipulation actually useful? I’m personally not a big believer in manipulations. But I do feel sooo twisted and I’m wondering if there would be any benefit to seeing an osteopath

Appreciate any help! TIA
