Are these false positives?

Are these false positives?

Hello everyone,

While checking some files on VirusTotal, I noticed that LibreWolf's WinUpdater.exe is flagged by 4 security vendors. I scanned my system using both Windows Defender and Malwarebytes, but neither detected any threats or suspicious activity.

I'm probably being overly cautious, but I'm not very tech-savvy and wanted to ask here if these detections are false positives.

Any advice or insights would be appreciated. Thank you!

What is WdoWppTracing?

I noticed that my C:\Windows\Microsoft Antimalware\Support folder contains a large number of these files with dates and random numbers in their names. (Example: WdoWppTracing-20260417-121818-00000007)

I tried researching them online, but I couldn't find much information about them. Is this normal, and is it safe to delete them? They’re taking up a lot of storage space.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello,

I've been looking into a Discord browser extension, and most people online recommend it and say it is safe and useful. The developer also appears to be active and maintains the project regularly.

I scanned the ZIP files on VirusTotal, and everything came back clean. I also did a lot of research and read about how the extension works and interacts with Discord. However, when it comes to reviewing the actual source code, I’m struggling to understand what’s happening.

Does anyone have advice on how to tell if a GitHub project is safe, especially if you can’t understand the code yourself? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
