What piece of everyday medieval equipment gets overlooked constantly?

I'm doing visual research for a medieval-inspired game and I'm trying to look beyond armour, swords and castles.

For reenactors:

What object, tool, piece of clothing or bit of everyday equipment do you use that almost never appears in medieval games or films?

Something completely ordinary that would immediately make a camp, village or soldier feel more authentic.

I'd love some references for things that aren't the usual Hollywood medieval imagery.

What aspect of medieval life do fantasy games get wrong most often?

I'm developing a medieval-inspired tabletop game called Banners of Kings, and researching the setting has made me realise how much of what I thought was “medieval” actually came from movies and fantasy.

So I'm curious:

What misconception about medieval life bothers you most?

Armour?

Warfare?

Castles?

Food?

Trade?

Social classes?

Travel?

Politics?

I'd especially love examples of things fantasy constantly portrays one way that worked completely differently historically.

🗡️ Jugar sucio: mercenarios, traiciones y espionaje.

I vibe-coded a phone detox app because I kept wasting time on my phone

I built KansoGate: a simple app where you start a phone-free session and earn coins for completing it.

I used AI to speed up the building process and FlutterFlow to design and style the app. It is still early, but the core idea works: make staying off your phone feel like a challenge instead of a punishment.

Would love honest feedback:

  • Does the coin/reward idea make sense?
  • Would you call this a focus app, phone detox app, or anti-scrolling app?
  • What would make you actually keep using something like this?

I’m the developer, so feel free to be brutally honest.
