My mother just got a little farmstead with some land. She wants to have chickens, guinea fowl, and peacocks.
She also wants to get an Irish wolfhound but is concerned if they are good with other animals like that.
Does anyone have any experience with this or know how puppies and adults will do? She would get the dog as a puppy and they would grow up with the other animals.
I definitely want my knights to be more narrative, since that’s what I get the most enjoyment from. I’ve decided to attach some lore to each model and build as I go. He is still very much a work in progress. I should have him mostly done in a couple days though. Just need to work out a suitable base after.
For my first knight I decided to start with the Armiger. The Sable Wraith.
Sable Wraith hunts the daemon plagued caves beneath his home world.
Once pure black to aid his hunts in the lightless depths, his Armiger has begun to emanate an ominous purple glow. Abyssal energy seeping through the plates. On his last return to the capital castle, the sight sparked outrage and scandal. He was dragged before the council of high priests, stripped of all dignity, and subjected to their rites. In the end they declared him clean. Reluctantly, they allowed him to continue his quest.
He now presses deeper into the labyrinth, alone. He kept his exact location a secret. So that should he fall, no rescue would come, for he fears any who follow would suffer the same fate.
The Sable Wraith powered down Algol’s Bane, the mighty chain-cleaver gifted to him at the campaign’s start. Its hungry growl had been a comfort in the dark, but in these narrow tunnels the sound could betray him. For three full days he had tracked his prey through the twisting tunnels, shafts, and side passages, that coiled in all eight directions with daemonic suggestion.
The creature hunted itself held little value. It was merely bait. Its master, some great horned thing, greater or lesser he neither knew nor cared, was the true quarry. Killing the thrall would surely draw the beast to him. At the end of the final tunnel he reactivated the cleaver. The chain teeth screamed to life as he hooked the weapon onto a jagged outcrop and flung his Armiger into the vast cavern beyond. In a wild arc he brought the cleaver down in full anticipation of blood. The teeth of Algol’s Bane’s chain blade screamed, ripping through the air, waiting to sink themselves into flesh. They were hungry, the stalk for prey had left them dry. The moist air in the damp cave not nearly enough to satiate there bloodthirsty demands.
Yet the blade met only empty air.
The pilot wrenched around, scanning the chamber. Nothing. The cavern was enormous, funneling out toward the far wall where an ornate, otherworldly door dominated the stone. A sickly bloom of unnatural light pulsed around it, as though the portal itself were breathing. He felt an odd pull at him, a sweet invitation laced with the promise of pleasure… and violence. He brushed aside the perverse overture and focused his mind. He did not know exactly what was behind the colossal doorway, but he did know the daemon he hunted would be there. He revved the beast on his left arm, the scream of its violence helped focus his mind away from the door’s disgusting promises.
He strode forward towards the door. Louder… louder… louder… he would only have once chance. He could feel the slime slick caress of the daemons words in his soul. He kept pushing forward. The door was right in front of him now. He reached his thermal lance forward to blast his way in. He flooded the lance with power when suddenly everything stopped.
The light faded.

And the door opened.
For some reason I chose to wait till I had all the models before I cracked any of them open. Now that I have a full 2k I’m going to get started.
Going to try to make some progress everyday. I’ll start with the Armigers to get my feet wet.
My lore for the house is still rough. But the Armiger pilots don’t wear the house colors until they earn them. So each one will be allowed to wear whatever it wants or can afford. It will be a nice splash of variety on the board.
I’m about half way through my first Armiger now. Wish me luck!
I started with the Destier. Then I was like, well I should get the eye of terror box too. Then I had to get a Lancer cause there are damn cool. At that point I was like well, I might as well get a questoris too right? Now I’m just an armiger box away from a 2k point army.
Anyone one feeling generous enough to throw an armiger box my way haha.
