I would like to expand on my education as a technical instructor, what would be the best way to go about that?

I am an instructor in the National Guard, I teach folks technical skills both in emergency/tactical medicine (at the entry level mostly), disaster and emergency management, and sUAS operation in multiple contexts

Something I've been running into lately is that I'm being asked to put together courses on various different things and sit down to write up an action plan and really don't know where to start. I also have the issue where I ramble on in courses. I'm confident, but I get ahead of myself and find that I will dabble in subjects that aren't relevant for the course itself.

Can anyone direct me towards resources or programs that would fit the need? I like doing this, I love training, I love sharing the knowledge, but I really need to enhance and augment my skill set with education in education. My CoC recommended I enroll in an instructional design program, and found one that they will pay for. Someone in another command recommended I get a certificate in Adult Education from a university in my state.

Is it possible to have a second MOS?

In the civilian world, I work for a company that does a lot of military focused sUAS work. I also do some UAV training for my unit (typically in the realm of SAR, terrain surveillance, and such).

I was telling another NCO in my unit about some of the work I'm doing in and it made its way up the chain, to the point that my unit would like me to "take on a second MOS."

I have no idea what this means, no one can really expand on what they mean by this, and I'm not even sure this is a real thing. I assume this means in some way I'll formalize my role in the unit, but they made it pretty clear that this is not a reclass and I'll remain in my normal MOS.

Has anyone else ever went through something like this (with drones or other CMFs)?
