Is it bad I just want to do whatever the rest of my social circle does?

I am 29F in a relationship with 29M, we are planning to get engaged in the next year. We both go back and forth on kids and haven’t made any decisions but agree we would probably be ok with either option.

My siblings and most of my friends are a few years younger than me, so no one has really started having kids yet. I know this isn’t a good reason to have them, but sometimes I honestly feel like the thing that would make me “happiest” is to just be in the same phase of life as my close circle. I don’t want to be the only parent if my friends continue to live carefree lives, and I don’t want to be left behind if they choose to embark on a new chapter.

I know that this a horrible way to make the decision, kids aren’t a tool for me to stay connected to my circle, yada yada. Just wondering if anyone else has thought this way.

How to plan financially when the future of your career is very uncertain?

I just turned 30 and I currently have a job as a graphic designer that I like and pays decently well. However, my company is HEAVILY pivoting to AI everything, and even though things may be ok in the short term I don’t expect to be able to make a living as a designer for the next 30 years of my career.

How do I plan for my financial future when I will almost definitely need to start my career over at some point? I feel like I can’t commit to buying a home because I have no idea how long my current salary will last.

Do people in India spend a crazy amount of time attending weddings?

In the US, it’s not uncommon to spend multiple weekends in a year attending weddings, especially if you’re at an age when a lot of your peer group is getting married. From my (extremely limited) understanding of Indian weddings, they are both much longer (lasting multiple days) and have much larger guest lists. Is it normal to need to take a lot of time off of work to attend multi-day weddings of people you may not even be that close with?
