stick on reader lens for full face helmet?

I'm at the age where I need readers for viewing my phone, watch, maps but I can read the instrument panel fine and my distance vision is fine. I wear a full face helmet with flip up face shield and separate retractable sun shield. I'm looking into some of the stick-on reader lenses that attach to the lower portion of sport sunglasses. When I'm on my MTB I wear sport glasses and spoken with friends who have had good luck with this approach, but I don't wear glasses with my motorcycle helmet. I'm not keen on the idea of wearing readers inside my helmet because I've tried that and the pressure of the helmet padding on the temples of the glasses was uncomfortable after a period of time.

Has anyone here used these kind of stick on reader lenses for the lower portion of their face shield and what was your experience with them?

My distance vision is fine and I don't wear glasses all the time. I'm looking into some of the stick-on reader lenses that attach to the lower portion of sport sunglasses. Why did I have to stumble across this sub and pull the scab off the wound I thought had healed?!

I've been riding 50+ years and have lost count, without checking my spreadsheet, of how many bikes I've had but it's 20+. I have lots of great memories of ...well... most of them. But my '08 V-Strom 650 is the one I most regret selling. It wasn't perfect but it's faults were mostly trivial. I had every farkle I wanted on mine and was dialed in perfectly for me.

I let it go when I was downsizing my stable and trying to get to my unicorn bike: I ended up with a DR650, which I dearly love. I was getting away from slab riding because traffic where I lived at the time was nuts and getting worse - too many soccer moms in Tahoe's with their nose in their phone instead of driving. Last year I moved to an area 1/10 population of before. I also have much bigger garage(s) than before. I cruise craigslist from time to time and see first gen V-Strom for crazy low prices .... and they tug at me, they wake me up at night, they haunt me.

But, when I'm honest and objective with myself the DR650 does everything I want it to do for the riding I do now. It's significantly better offroad when I remember the times I got in over my head with the V-Strom and it's no slouch on pavement. I never ride two-up anymore. I miss the purr of the V-twin when carving canyon roads but even for the low entry price of a used first-gen, I can't justify it (shut up memories!).

So what's this all about?? Partly I'm crying in my morning coffee at the memories of my V-Strom; but I see posts here all the time asking "should I get one?"

ABSOLUTELY YES, do not over analyze it - if the price and condition of the (used) bike you're looking at are right, just go get it particularly if ADV, light/mid touring, reasonably accessible camping, canyon carving, commuting is the kind of riding you're into.

The more time you spend pondering is more time lost in the saddle.

Take the bars in your hands and Enjoy the ride, they're shorter than you think.
