Mercedes EQB 250

Hi,

I am planning to buy a pre-owned Mercedes EQB 250. This is the first time I am buying a car and an EV at that. I see two options:

  1. (2023 model) EQB 250 -- ~28k miles (1 owner) -- ~31k$
  2. (2025 model) EQB 250 - ~4k miles (lease return) -- 38k$

The first car shows two recalls when I enter the VIN number, but the 2nd one doesn't show anything.

This is in Bay Area, California. Now, I had a few questions:

  1. What does 2 pending recall means? And if I take the car to the dealer, do they replace the battery? If yes, isn't that a good thing, that now the battery would be brand new so everything should work like brand new without any issues? Or am I missing something?
  2. Do 2025 models also had battery issues? If not, would it better to go ahead with that? Or can a recall appear anytime in the future? Are dealers cooperative in replacing the battery or do they do a bad job at it?

Thanks!
