Is this a stupid idea? (Booking separate tickets)
Hi! I'm flying from Detroit to Oslo in August, but if I book DTW to OSL, I'd have to do an international layover in Paris (at CDG, my least favorite airport!). If I book separate flights, I can fly from DTW to New York (JFK), and then JFK directly to OSL. Basically, I'd feel much less stressed just taking my layover domestically. This is the flight info:
DTW to JFK 6 AM - 7:45 AM
JFK to OSL 5:10 PM - 6:45 AM
The nine-hour layover time feels like more than enough time, but IS IT?!! I've experienced lots of delays with flights in the past couple of years, so I'm trying to gauge opinions. I'm also good just booking with the CDG layover and toughing it out, even though that airport confuses me. (I have anxiety, so please be nice to me in your responses LOL) Thank you in advance!
