Hi, all! Hope this is the right place to ask. I'm doing my very first solo journaling rpg and it's The Last Tea Shop. I'm just a little confused. Am I supposed to ask the questions in order or can I pick and choose questions or should I roll the dice? Sorry, I know I'm overthinking it but I just wanted to know how everyone else was doing it. Hi, everyone! My friends and I literally have zero experience in DnD, but we also really want to try and play it. There are no local groups, and we're too shy to join online ones. My friend jokingly said that I should just start a campaign and we'll play on our own. I've been considering it because I've honestly wanted to play with my friends for a long time, and it finally came up now.
Now here's the situation, I have not played DnD at all 😭 I've read about it, watched a few videos, very briefly dabbled in solo rp journaling games, but that's it. I still don't know a lot. I could read the Player Handbook, and I am willing to, but that'll take a while because I also have responsibilities to take care of. I do have some confidence in my storytelling abilities. So what I've been thinking is to just try and come up with a one shot campaign that may or may not be what others might consider as DnD? I'm not sure, I don't know what other players think 😂 But yeah, is that plausible? Is there something I should prepare for, as a "DM", that wouldn't take too much time? Like, how can I help my friends with their characters? What are the basic fundamentals that will at least make this campaign enjoyable for us?
