Best price I’ve seen on these Amazon US.

Been looking for a non-book club edition of this and Tolkienbooks.us led me to believe that all book club editions had a red or blind stamp in the bottom right on back of the book. Well, I found one without any stamp, so I thought I was safe buying this one as the eBay listing showed no stamp, even though they didn’t show copyright page or page edges.
This appears to be a 1st printing, third state book club edition based on the copyright page. I have a different code on the last page than have been seen in the wild. Is it worth sending info to Tolkienbooks.us so they can add info?

It’s arrived and it’s absolutely gorgeous! I don’t think it had hardly ever been open. The pages crinkled very satisfactory as I fanned through them.
…than the $25 50th that’s coming in the mail, but I bought this second edition 16th print from Facebook marketplace. They had originally listed it at $175 lowered it to $100 and I offered &75. It’s in excellent condition but I think $75 is really top dollar for this, even though I see them listed for exorbitant amounts on eBay, and in much worse shape. I won’t count the gas cost to go get it 70 miles away. 😊
Waited till the last second and was the only bidder so got it for minimum bid of $25. Shipping is a little high and with tax it was just under $49.
There appears to be an imperfection on one side of the slipcase, but copyright page indicates it’s a first printing.
Looks like some great prices on Author Illustrated and Alan Lee Box sets.
Finally trying to read The Silmarillion and I’m flipping between various editions I have, when I realized this 1998 US edition ISBN 0395939461 I have is missing a signature. It skips from page 18-35!
I’ve flipped through the rest and don’t see and signatures duplicated.
Our local used bookstore posted this in a big clean out but by the time I messaged them it was gone. Looks like it was a bit rough but it would’ve only been $5. Don’t see these often on eBay in US. Plenty in Uk but shipping is exorbitant.
Got these insanely cheap. They’re in pretty good shape for trade paperbacks. I read the first two volumes years ago. Can’t wait to reread and finish the series.
I got this all IN TRADE! Thrilled with it. Now have completed my run of the matching Del Rey’s (last pic).
I guess there’s not any retailer that can ship without risk of damage. Tried Blackwell’s on recommendation from this list and prices are great, including shipping to the US, shipping was fast (14 days), but packaging still left something to be desired. Package arrived open on one end and the way they were sandwiched in with no other padding caused some dings.
I’ve written them to see if they’re willing to discount them for the trouble, as I sure won’t pay to ship them back.
Having a blast decorating my Tolkien bookcase.
Recently obtained these Scribner first edition paperbacks from 1996 in good shape. They are 6th, 8th and 7th printings.
Have a chance to get these really cheap.
Came across this channel on YouTube with several of the ancillary books, all seemingly narrated by Andy Serkis. Are these some sort of AI bootlegs?
Apologies if this is straying off topic.
