My ex keeps stalking me online, can someone pls help me?
My ex has been stalking me from past 5-6 yrs. We dated in 2016 for 6-7 months during our college days (we were in different college). It ended one sided as I felt it wasn't working out. Since 2021 he has repeatedly contacted me through fake Facebook accounts just to find out whether I’m single, committed, or married.
In 2021 I received a text frm an FB account saying "Will u marry me", claiming he worked in a nearby bank and saying he wanted a baby with me. I figured out it was him. I lied that I'm married and blocked him, assuming that he wouldn't disturb me anymore. Again in last year December, he contacted me again through another fake account pretending to be a dermatologist after seeing one of my comments online. He started sending voice notes and asking for personal details. That’s when I became suspicious and realised it was him. He started insulting my appearance, character, and personal life mockingly. He even sent me a link to track my location.
I'm well aware that this comes under cyber stalking and I can complain through cyber crime portal. I’m worried that my complaint might lead to local police intervention. I also don’t want to drag my parents into this (though both of them know about this). I thought of making an anonymous complaint, but not sure how effective it will be. At the same time, I can't keep on ignoring this repeated stalking by him. It's mentally exhausting to deal with this, as I'm already going through a lot of other personal issues.
Can someone please explain what happens after filing cyber stalking complaint online. Are anonymous complaints considered serious and how effective that could be? Any geniune advice would be really helpful.
