[misc] anyone else’s Hardcover of Nina the Ninth have a random bump in page length?

So I ordered the last one available at my bookshop and then when I came home I saw the pages suddenly just got longer, I opened to check and it just start doing it at a random page, no new chapter start or anything.

My harrow and Gideon books are probably the cleanest and most unused looking hardcover I have ever gotten. But I can admittedly see that my Nona hardcover looks a bit beat up and even has a scratch on the back even though it’s supposed to be new.

ANYAYS, is the page bump length normal? Or is this an misprint?

[discussion] Finished Gideon the ninth and I’m confused about what the big “oh it all make sense now” twist is?

So I finished the first book and thought it was fun enough, have already ordered the next since I’m curious about where the story goes next.

But I didn’t really see this “ oh it all makes sense by the twist reveal at the end”. I thought things made sense and the things i remember not making complete sense felt like things that would be revealed in the sequels.

Like I’m not left sitting here feeling confused by anything other than what I was supposed to be confused about? I can’t even be specific about it, because I don’t know what I should be specific about.

Sorry if this comes off as me trying to start shit. I did like the book and like said at the start I have already ordered the Harrow book. So I’m not coming at this with any “ This sucks actually” agenda.

I just feel like I’m missing some important plot point by not having felt confused😵‍💫

The Locked Tomb series for someone who don’t have time for re-reads?

So I stated Gideon the ninth the other day. Finding it a bit slow at the start and have not quite managed to get into it yet. But I’m not giving up on it yet.

But all I see everytime the books are mentioned is that “it’s better on re-read” or “it will all make sense on re-read”

And that’s sound cool and all. But I have so many books to get around to reading. And I don’t reread books or rewatch tv show until like maybe 7 years has gone by and I don’t remember to much anymore. Like I’m weird enough that I just don’t find it entertaining to reread books, rewatch tv shows or replay video games for that matter when I still remember what’s gonna happen, I get bored doing that. I honestly admire people that are capable of rereading stuff and still having equal amount of fun with it.

My question is: will I like this book series if I’m a person who is not gonna end up rereading the books.

And if I do reread it, it will be years and years away. I still have not reread any of the book I have read since I stated actively reading books.

How hard is proud mode for someone who played as kid on the PS2

Hi! Loved and 100% KH1 and 2 when these game orignally came out on PS2 and really look forward to the nostalgia.

But something that I have often noticed when replaying older games I did as a kid was that they were always a hell of a lot easier then I remember them being.

So I was wondering how hard proud mode really is, since I don’t want to have too easy of a time replaying these games.

But I also don’t want to feel frustrated becuase proud mode be to frustrating and i know you can’t change difficulty later on in the game.

These were my biggest childhood games along side Final Fantasy and Metal Gear. So really looking forward to replaying these.

Il probably be trying for some of the achievement while im at it too tbh.

Aerial dash in community crafted is so much fun!!!

It adds so much to be able to aerial dash around places, I legit laughed from the fun of it several times the past hour I’ve been playing.

The ult is fun to, but I don’t need it in base kit. But the aerial dash is so much fun that I hope it gets added to base kit :p

Some these kits has been hit and miss ( I really disliked how Mizuki and Zen feels and they are my second an third highest level) , and when I read the changes for brigg they looked kind meh to me, but holy shit were they fun to play with.

Question for those who has read Witch King by Martha Wells

Hi, I just finished the first book and I really liked.

But I’m left very confused about how the “intentions” magic worked.

Was Kai using the same magic as the Expositors, just that he was drawing from his own pain instead of the well? Or was it two different kinds of magic.

And exactly what was an “intention”? Was it them making a magical sign or did they like out magic into a rock or something? I first thought they just made some signs, but then they started “attaching” them to people, which left me very confused.

But yeah, other than that I really liked the book and the trio of Kai, Ziede and Tahren was really entertaining. And I’m assuming that the time difference between the past and the present was 60 years?

And does the sequel end in a conclusive way is this gonna be a long running book series?

I have come to really like witches, and I know there is plenty of books with witches In the title.

But a lot of them has them focused on getting revenge on men, which I know is a theme for witches and is often tied to the I design of witches. But it’s starting to feel a bit repetitive for me to read that type of story to get my «witch» fix 😅 ( nothing wrong with them, I’m just kinda tired of reading that type of story atm)

BUT I really want to read some books where there are witches or even just a witch character that is part of the party of characters we follow.

And good books that has witches in them that isn’t a revenge story? :)
