Which would you take into the woods, and why?

Hello,

I am looking at buying a used 10mm for a wood guns, I have the chance to buy either an XDM Elite 3.8” with some mild wear, barrel shows finish wear and there is some mild rust on the slide release or a Gen 3 Glock 29 that is like new.
They both feel about the same in my hands, I know I would get at least the +0 Pearce pinky plates for the 29 if I went that route.

Either one would cost just under $400.

My main concerns are holster availability with a light, overall reliability and how well the 29 does with larger magazines like the 15 mag or the 10rd extensions (I’ve read that some folks have issues with feeding)

I would appreciate any input!

Dating an 870 without barrel??

Looking at an 870 Express Magnum with a metal trigger group but does not have the original barrel, so without the barrel stampings, is there any other reliable way to determine production year via serial?

Mainly just want to make sure it was made prior to the 2007 Cerberus disaster.

Thank you!!

G29 Gen4 vs XD-M Elite 3.8

If you could bring home a used model of either one of these pistols both bone stock and both for the same price would you take the XD or the Glock and why?

(I have a chance to pick up either one for the same fair price, I currently the only thing leaning me toward the XD is the optics ready and the trigger)

Thank you for your time and input!

Looking for a Kydex OWB holster that is optic and light compatible, though the only holsters I’m finding do not offer light compatibility. Is there any brands y’all recommend that I could be missing?

XDM-E 3.8” w/ optic and TLR7X

Thank you for your time!

Springfield XDM Elite Reliability?

Looking at an XDM Elite OSP Compact (3.8”) and am curious if this model is considered to be reliable? I know lots of 10mm have weird issues like M&P and their magazines and feeing issues.

Are these XDMs something you’d trust as a woods gun?

Looking at this early model of post Mossberg purchase Maverick 88 security, I noticed the bolt is not blued, the receiver is marked and the stock is different from current model 88 securitys.

Can anyone enlighten me on if these early models are that different internally? It is like a pre64 Winchester or JM stamped Marlin where the original production lines were changed post ownership change?

Thank you for your time!

I am looking at purchasing a model 94 from 1895 (serial in 26,000) range. Though it has a model 64 barrel and forend. It appears the forend has some sort of bedding done (is this normal?) and I’d like to remove the forend but there is this dovetail like piece under the forend cap between the barrel and magazine tube that I cannot seem to figure out how to remove. Also curious how to remove the front magazine tube band that dovetails into the barrel just before the magazine cap. I would love any input or resources on disassembly of this area.

Thank you!!

Hello,

I have a model 94 dated to 1895 (26,000 serial range) though the entire rifle forward of the receiver appears to be off a model 64, the mag tube, barrel (stamped 64 in 32 WS) and forend all appear to be from a model 64. My best guess is it was completely replaced at one point in history, would love any input on what or how this was done, most curious about the compatibility of the entire forend and magazine tube being compatible with a 94 receiver.

Thank you and would appreciate any comments!
