RANT: DHL is officially the worst shipping company. Strung along for 2 weeks just to return my package to sender (France to US).

I am beyond frustrated right now and just need to vent, but I also want to know if anyone else has been trapped in this specific loop of absolute incompetence.
I was expecting a shipment from France, and DHL has spent the last 14 days completely wasting my time. Here is the timeline of how they string you along:

  • The Runaround: My package gets stuck in limbo for two weeks. I didn't just sit on my hands—I called DHL customer service several times. Every single time, the reps assured me that the package was simply "with customs" and actively "going through the clearance process." No flags, no warnings.
  • The Document Trap: During this window, they finally reached out asking for specific clearance documents. I gathered exactly what they asked for and submitted everything promptly to make sure there were zero delays.
  • The Ultimate Slap in the Face: Out of nowhere today—with zero explanation regarding the documents I just provided, and completely contradicting what multiple phone agents told me—I get an automated email stating that the package is being returned to the original shipper.

Why did they bother holding it for two weeks, making me jump through hoops to provide documentation, and lying to my face on the phone if they were just going to immediately turn around and ship it back to France?

Has anyone else dealt with DHL agents giving you the "it's just clearing customs" line right before a sudden Return to Sender? Is there any way to intercept this or escalate it to a supervisor who actually has a brain, or am I entirely out of luck until the sender gets it back?

TL;DR: DHL held a package from France for two weeks. I called multiple times and agents assured me it was just going through standard customs clearance. I provided all requested documents, only to get a sudden automated email saying it's being returned to the sender anyway. Absolute clown show.

DS925+ not recognizing Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe drives - Workarounds?

Hi everyone,
I'm currently setting up a brand new DS925+ and running into an issue where DSM won't recognize my NVMe cache drives. As you can see in the attached screenshot (2026-07-02_15-31-54.png), both of my Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB drives are throwing an "Unrecognized" status.
I know Synology has become increasingly strict regarding unsupported third-party drives, but I have a different Synology model that accepts various NVMe drives without any issues.
Are there any known workarounds or community scripts (I am comfortable dropping into SSH if necessary) to force DSM to recognize and mount these?
Thanks in advance

Tracking stuck on "Awaiting Documents" even after I've submitted them. What should I do?

Hi everyone,
I’m dealing with a DHL Express shipment and running into a frustrating customs clearance issue. My tracking status recently updated to say that DHL is awaiting clearance documents from me.

I immediately went ahead and submitted everything they requested through the portal. However, it’s been a bit and the tracking status hasn't updated at all—it still shows that it is stuck and waiting on me to provide the paperwork.

To help you help me, here are the shipment details:
Departure: France
Destination: USA (stuck in NY)

Has anyone experienced this before? Does it normally take a few days for DHL's system to update the status after uploading, or is there a specific DHL Customs number I should call to manually push this through?
Any advice on how to get this package moving would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!
