My laptop keeps overheating way too easily and gigabyte removed fan controls to combat this (?)

I have a gigabyte gaming A16 that ive been using for a while and I used to be able to change the fan controls between modes like silent and turbo etc. So I could adjust it if they laptop was getting too hot. But now that control is just entirely gone.

The only way I can control the fan speed somewhat is changing the system performance between silent, balance and performance but thats not exactly the same. My laptop gets hot way too fast with the dGPU enabled and I dont want to keep it in eco mode all the time since I of course want the graphics on for when I game and work in larger creator apps like Maya. But it gets hot way too fast even when i dont even have large apps open just by being in auto mode to have the dGPU on.

Ive messed about with it being in different modes and the system performance options too but this keeps happening and I just dont know how to solve it. Is this just normal? I dont really care for fan noise too much, I just dont want to cause damage from the heat

Hi I'm a student and new to blender so forgive me if im being amateur but each time I bake the high poly mesh onto the lower poly, I keep getting strange colouring typically purple. I was originally getting this much worse with weird splotchy patches of colour of purples and greens but I messed around with applying the transforms and upping the max ray distance and that did help a ton. but there is still this weird colouring. I also lose out on some detailing after the bake but I can accept that more. I have my UVs unwrapped to the best of my abilities (hate UVing) so I dont believe thats the issue. On the shader editor I made sure it was set to non colour as well as my bake settings. I have messed around on alt saves with the extrusion and the max ray distance number but this didn't change much or even worsened things in some cases. I was following a few tutorials, some that included a normal map node and some didn't. i found it was worser with the normal map node.

also, how would I go about texturing this with painting and colour onto the model? obviously I want both the details from the bake to show as well as painted textures over top. is this....doable? i have other objects in the scene im making where they also have baked textures but if i draw over it, it will just cover those baked details. is this something i am meant to do before baking? its probably simple but im struggling to find a good tut on that. any suggestions would be marvelous, thank u!

high poly mesh

after bake (best result so far)
