I made this sub because I wanted to find more people around Cape Breton who are into the weird, slow, and fun side of cycling.
*What we’re about:*
*Restomod builds*: Old steel frames, new parts, frankenbikes, thrift-store rescues. Show off the project bikes.
*Gravel & backroads*: The old logging roads, coast runs, and the stuff that isn’t on Strava’s main feed
*Bikepacking & overnights*: Micro-adventures, camp spots, gear talk
*DIY & weird bikes*: Fixed gear, MTB conversions, rusty winter rigs, whatever rolls
*First rule*: Be decent. Share routes, post pics, ask for help, plan rides.
I'm having issues with the headset but hoping to have that sorted out when I have more patience. Glad it's all coming together though.
Pedals, stem and cable housing arrived today for the 1.0. Hell yea.
I'm out in Richmond county. Moved here a few years ago from out west where I was pretty big into the cycling community, I did everything from touring to mountain biking and cx racing etc. I sort of lost interest the last couple years but decided over the winter to dive back in, I'm definitely more into the party pace vibe now at this point so I was just curious if anybody else around here was into the same thing as I haven't done much work yet to meet people with the same interest. I've been doing some gravel riding on the Celtic Coastal Trail and have been having a great time.

I guess I'm just throwing a line out to see if there are any chill riding buddies around, I ride a Surly Disc Trucker and an '87 Norco Mountaineer that I recently restomodded to give you an idea of what kind of riding and bikes I'm into nowadays.

Anyway, drop a line if you wanna meet up or give me some recs on cool gravel rides or chill trails to check out and ride.
I've been wearing these for a few years and they're not only hilarious, they're tough and comfy. Before a build or a ride, you gotta ask yourself, WWBPD?
Doing a frame up restomod on this old Instigator 1.0, I've pretty much got all the parts picked out just need to hit the order button on a few carts. Looking forward to a fun shreddy summer.
Saw these awhile back and picked up a pack today to test if it'll work, I think it will.
Feels pretty solid and a couple small bungees should keep it from flapping open/holding cargo.
For $5 it's worth testing.
Toying with idea of ditching my drop bars. I've had my DT for a long time and am feeling a need for change.
Show me your Disc Truckers with flat/cruiser/riser bars.
I was also looking at the Paul thumbies so I can keep the shifters because I really like them, give me your thoughts on those as well if you've used them
My wife: "you have a beautiful custom Disc Trucker, why do you wanna bring that crusty old Norco?"
Me: "...because I have this." *points at my rad crusty old Norco*
