Plastic in China

I started climbing fairly recently and live in Central China. It's apparently really taking off here and a bunch of gyms opened recently including this one. I'm starting to get a feeling for what the different grades feel like at my gym, and others in the city... But I wonder how that stacks up to the scene at large. The wall the undercling is on is probably 20-30 degrees overhang? The segment the big gray volume above is on is vertical.

The view from my desk...

This is my shrimp tank. There are many like it, but this one is mine. It started as an experiment to demonstrate the Nitrogen cycle to my middle schoolers, and it continues as an endless source of calm and meditation.

This little 10L jar has legitimately made my day to day so much nicer. Writing lesson plans and catching a flicker of movement from the corner of my eye, and watching the population go from 10 (down to six, death to damsel fly nymphs) up to who knows how many little babies swimming around has been not only a valuable teaching aid, but just genuinely a source of joy. It's almost time to take the little bugs home for the summer. I hope my wife falls in love like I did so we can keep a tank at home as well!

(HELP) Happy Mother's Day, I Guess?

So my shrimp have been in my Walstad style 12L jar for a little over a month. We started with 10, but lost a few to a damsel fly nymph epidemic. We now have six and i saw one very clearly develop a saddle and watched her eagerly as she molted and moved her eggs. Apparently I was focusing on her too much. Of the 6 shrimp in my tank 4 of them are now berried females.

Yes yes, I know. Steak too juicy, lobster too buttery.

But seriously, as a first timer I'm a little nervous. There should be 80+ baby shrimp added to the tank in a relatively short time frame. I know their bioload is extremely small, but do I need to do anything to prep for this? Is there anything I should keep an eye out for? Thanks in advance y'all!

Also, obligatory: It's not clado, right?
