Just today my 91’ sw20 turbo mr2 started making a metal-on- asphalt dragging sound at speed, and to begin with it would persist at idle, it has now stopped doing that. It happens the same if not just a tiny bit louder depending on speed, and goes away intermittently then comes back?
Please help 🙏
Just took the car in to change the exhaust bracket since I had a rattle and stripped the bolt, but that rattle sounded very different so I’m confused if maybe this one just has less play and therefore rattles quicker or something? My other idea was rear brakes because one side is a little looser with the handbrake engaged. I’ve been meaning to replace them anyway.
(Nothing dangling under the car) exhaust still touches cross member but that was making a different kind of rattle before I replaced the hanger)

I’m wondering about braking performance, multiple times going down my local mountain road at “the speed limit” 😉 I have experienced severe brake fade and an extremely strong brake smoke smell, often with smoke billowing from my front brakes, I’m considering purchasing the willwood big brake kit from prime mr2 but was interested if there are any cheap intermediary solutions. I’m also wondering if it’s possible to convert the fog lights to brake cooling channels?

I just fixed an exhaust rattle I had and was just wondering how healthy relatively my engine sounds, I just got paid so if I need to do a little tune up to make it healthier I figured this was the time

My sw20 had had a sticky window forever, taking a while to roll down and catch up with the mechanism, last night something inside snapped and the window won’t roll up into the correct position if it even rolls up.

I’m looking for a unique pair of rims for my 91 turbo. Everyone seems to have a consensus on 17x8s, I found these really cool rims primarily for trucks called ion 171s and I think they would be absolutely sick on an mr2 but firstly they’re 17x9s and I don’t know how much work I would need to do to the front to fit them, secondly they’re 27lbs, which seems a bit too heavy, I’m really torn, any unique suggestions are greatly appreciated, I really like the “more rim than air” type rims, I also love areodiscs. I’m going to run bc coilovers if that’s important for fitment modifications. Also since I’m considering wrapping the car a deep magenta or brg I think the ions would look great white or bronze.

I finally got an mr2 after years of lusting. It’s a 91 turbo with a 93 turbo engine and it sounds 👌very nice. It’s repainted in something similar to the factory yellow, which is alright but not my exact vibe. I just sold my e30 so I have a little cash to work with the car. What colour should I go for, these were my ideas but I’m open to suggestions.
