Help with Thermal Paste

Help with Thermal Paste

Hi! I'm trying to replace thermal paste for the first time in my HP Spectre x360 laptop (circa 2019) but it's already looking very different from videos online. All I've done is open it and unplug the battery.

I was expecting my CPU to be between the fans but didn't expect the copper plate to be single use (it says replace with spare and I believe it after trying to lift the corner). However, just to the left of the left fan, I can see a little silver box under a plastic plate that looks like it says Intel.

Should I apply my paste (Arctic MX-4) on the Intel chip on the left or do I need to order the copper plate and come back to this another day?

TYIA, this is a learning experience

Ticket in Suffolk - Contesting It?

I was visiting the HR area in June and got a non-moving citation from the camera at the WB US 58 interchange, allegedly 61 in a 50, with the offense being 10+ mph over. The video shows me (and the guy in front of me) in the left lane and actively braking. I don't think I was speeding to the extent alleged - maybe 5mph over but not 11. I'd received my second ticket ever just a few days earlier in the OBX, was physically ill from stress about it, and was actively watching my speed for weeks as a result, including when I drove through US 58.

It's $100 but I'm in the middle of leaving my job and moving back from NC to the HR area. Is it worth contesting? Is there any advice you can give me?

Transmasc, they/them, but here to ask advice from a larger subreddit.

I'm in the south in the USA and graduating from my master's program next week but my job opportunities are terrible right now, both in my field (actively being defunded, hired through city hall) and in my current college town (everything slows down in the summer). I have a shitty food service job but pay is bad and my hours are always getting cut, and I can't afford to renew my lease or to live here anymore.

It's increasingly looking like I'm going to have to move back into my childhood house with my conservative parents, a younger sibling, and Fox-News-loving grandparent once my lease is up. They haven't seen me since started T six months ago (but they think I'm 3 months), and both parents are vocally unsupportive. My grandparent doesn't know and I don't plan on talking about it if I can help it.

I just feel really... Trapped. It's already difficult to find a job but I'm going to have a horrible time finding a job in my hometown because it's conservative and I'm advocating for queer-inclusive materials for youth/teens. It was already difficult to hang out with my parents and now I'm going to get to feel like I'm being smothered again for the foreseeable future.

There's no threat of physical violence, I have several months of T and supplies stockpiled and locked away. However, there's no visible queer community and I won't have any kind of support system while there. I also won't have health insurance or anything else until I land a new job.

TL;DR: seeking advice on how to go back to living with unsupportive parents without regressing back to feeling like I did at 16.
