My very interesting neighbour noticed this pigeon in his yard, it could not fly properly and was being chased by cats so he did the only thing he could do in that situation... he started to chase after it to try and scare it into flying away 🤦.

I noticed what he was doing so I came to pick it up, brought it home where I cleaned up an old cage where my grandma used to keep baby chiks long ago, gave it food and water and left it on its own. I didn't see it eat or drink but I did help it get a few sips by gently putting his beak into the bowl of water so that it knows where the drink is, for food I gave it what I feed chickens, I know It's not the best thing for them but It's the best I could get. We live in a place near silos where corn and random grans fall off trailers every day next to the road so he should be used to this diet as he or she is from a flock that eats those grains every day.

Anyways he can kind of fly for two to three seconds but he doesn't seem to be able to keep his balance properly since his right wing is droopy, there doesn't seem to be any wounds and when he walks he lifts it up the way his other wing is but as soon as he tries to fly or jump the wing becomes slightly droopy.

At the moment, I am not able to do anything else besides provide him comfort, food and water. Vets are out of the question given my current circumstances and the last time I tried contacting a few of them about a hurt bird they all told me that they don't provide care for them, so is there anything else that I myself can do on my own to help him recover?

What worries me the most is that I didn't see him eat but after helping out a bunch of birds over the years I know that It's probably due to shock from being chased by two cats and a madman, he is not underweight and seems to be perfectly healthy other than the droopy wing, he walks normally and heck he even has an attitude and pecks on me if I hold him for too long.

I'm also afraid that his wing may be broken but I'm not completely sure since he can kind of fly but for a very short amount of time. Could his injury be psychological due to something like a heat stroke with him losing balance mid flight and all that? I had a perfectly healthy duck nearly die due to summer being insanely hot here in Serbia, poor thing could not stand on her legs for days..

Anyways sorry for the long post, just wanted to write every detail down before I make my post
