mazunte recommendations

hi! we‘ll be in mazunte for 5 nights in a couple of weeks and we‘d really appreciate to hear your opinion on some things.

  1. how to get there
we‘ll be driving to mazunte from oaxaca with our rental car - is there a road you can suggest ir any other tips about the trip from oaxaca to mazunte?

  2. what to do
ofc we‘ll enjoy the beautiful beaches and go swimming but what other things can you recommend? i feel like 5 nights is quite long. since we have a car we can easily do some daytrips etc.

  3. the weather
whats your experience with the weather in august/september in mazunte? is it just very humid or also lots of rain? we really hope to get some sunny afternoons some days.

thank you so much for all your help!

which korean bbq?

hi, we‘re visiting LA in a few weeks for a couple of days. we‘re from switzerland and really want to try the things LA is known for / doesn’t really exist here in switzerland.

therefore we definitely wanna go try a korean bbq spot since we haven‘t really been to a good one yet. we‘re a bit overwhelmed since there seem to be so many good spots - we really have a hard time deciding between these: park‘s bbq, soowon galbi, soot bull jip.

I‘ve read some really good things about all of them so if you had to decide - which one would you recommend? or are we overthinking it and all of them are just basically on the same level?

thank you so much for your opinions 🙏

Swiss visiting LA for 5 days – recs?

Hi, we're 4 friends (all 22 years old) visiting LA for 5 days in September. We're swiss and looking for some food we can't get here in switzerland and are iconic for LA.

We've already been to LA 2 years ago and ate at a lot of "hyped" foodspots, including howlin rays, amboy, various taco trucks, easy street, love hour, goldburger etc. As you might notice, we've had a lot of burgers and tacos since it was quite hard back then to find a good smashburger in switzerland (tacos are still inexsistent). We've enjoyed most of it but we really want some more variety this time. We're a bit tired of burgers – the only one we still want to try is the one form Moo's.

We aren't picky at all and basically eat everything. We're looking for some lowkey, non fancy spots. We don't want to go to the spots that are all over tiktok or ig. We're looking for institutions, family owned, honest, genuine spots. Our list currently contains of: Roasted Duck by Pa Ord, Mariscos Jalisco, San Carlo Italian Deli, lu‘s dumpling house, quarter sheets, Soowon Galbi and a few more.

Please let us know your must-try spots and also opinions on our list! Thank you so so much – appreciate it.
