What I mean is a director directs a film and it wins best picture, and then their follow up film they direct wins also wins best picture. So far David Lean with Bridge on the River Kwai and Lawrenc of Arabia ha been the only one to do it. I think this year with The Odyssey could potentially make Nolan the second dirctir to do it. I also think if pta makes something just as grand and timely as One Battle he might do it.

I recently got to watch hope and while I cna see how some may not have enjoyed it I really liked it. I geuss now I just hope that the sequel will happen and it won't take like 4 to 8 years for ot to come out. I also wonder if he'll be able to recapture what made HOPE so good. What direction do you think he'll go with it to rpeserve a similar style of action for the 2nd film?

Idk just a curiosity question for the comunity as an American that has been practicing contortion for a year now, I've noticed contortion is obviously very big in Mongolia, I've also seen that there's alot of eastern European contortionists. ​

As somone who is planning on traveling to attend TIFF for the first time I want to watch a wide variety of films. And I dont want to miss out on seeing the award winners of the festival one of them being the Best Canadian Discovery award winner. Last year it was Blue Heron before then it was Universal Language, Blue Heron won a similar award at Locarno, and Universal Language played at cannes. I didn't know if there will be any 1st or 2nd feature from a Canadian director that achieves those precursors. I'm planning on going from the 10-17 I don't want to spend all my time watching a bunch of indies that don't win that award? Not that I'm nit intrested in them it's just I want to mix it up, i I want to watch all the film the show up from Cannes, I want to watch a number of the big films. Is there a way to make sure I dont miss it?

Last year there was Urchin, My Fathers Shadow, and Pillion. Will they have a showing that's that prominent at Venice this year or what?

Do you guys think the sequel will get made? Will it take another decade? Will have the same style of action as the first film or will it be something total different? I just hope its not to space heavy scifiy IDK what it will be about I just hope it stays on earth, maybe a new location but still keep just as much of a thrill action ride, it will be hard to top the cool horse chase that the trailer slowed but I'm sure Na Hong-jin could come up with something just as different and exciting.

With films like The Substance for crying out loud getting best picture nominations I can't help but wonder if Host by Bong Joon-Ho got all this buzz out for cannes a 93% RT score and got a picked up with a big awards push by Neon would it with nominated for best picture?

I'm so excited about the fact that Clockwork is restoring abd releasing The Devils, I wonder what they'll do in 2027? Is there another film on the level The Devils that doesnt have a 4k restoration in terms of cult status, burried footage and everything? How do they top this for the 80th aniversy of the Cannes film festival? 

Thomas Crown Affair? A Quiet Place Part III? Shiver (WB movie from Tim Miller)?
