Class of 2027 here! BU is my dream school, and I’m planning to apply ED.
Right now, I have a 1460 superscore, but I’m taking the SAT one more time and hoping to get at least a 1500 (superscore is fine). I’ve already taken the SAT three times.
For context, my high school’s average SAT score is around 900–1000. I know BU is obviously much more competitive than my school’s overall applicant pool, but I’m wondering how much of a difference a 1500 vs. a 1460 would realistically make for my chances, especially applying ED.
Would you say it’s worth putting significant effort into trying to get that 1500, or is a 1460 already strong enough that the difference probably wouldn’t matter much?
(I’m at a 710RW 750 Math)
Even though it’s on the lower end, should I submit a 1460 (superscore 710RW 750 Math) to top selective (T20) universities if my high school’s average is in the 900-1000 range?
Do colleges care if it is a superscore or one time sitting?
For T30-T50 schools, if I am trying to go on a pre-med pathway, will dropping math senior year hurt me if I don’t want to take AP Calc BC or Stats, even if my school offers them?
I took four APs in junior year (Psych [5], Bio[not submitting], Lang [5], Calc AB [5]) and I am planning on doing two senior year (one of them being AP Chem).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
