Should I stay for summer after my exchange or go back home?

Over the past year I have build my life on Erasmus and now that the inevitable end is coming to an end I feel very hesitant to let it all go and I am clinging for as long as I can.

My initial plan was to get a summer internship (didn’t work out), plan B was to get a bartending job (didn’t work out) and now I am facing the decision. Do I go back home and work the same job I did as before or maybe get some freelance gigs. Or stay here after my exchange and prolong the inevitable.

The thing is like 90% of my Erasmus friends will leave, I still have my classmates but they are back at their parents and live away or don’t have as much time to do stuff. And maybe most importantly I have a relationship which I want to enjoy as much as possible before it ends.

STAYING FOR THE SUMMER

PROS:

- More time to enjoy the relationship (mosty weekends anyway tho)
- pleasant creative and international environment
- Chill maybe even too lazy summer

CONS:

- Expensive
- Unstable source of income
- Waaaaay less friends
- My parents would prefer that I come home (sad parents)
- I dont feel the drive to stay here as much as I did when I still attended uni

GOING BACK HOME:

PROS:

- Transition period before going back to my home uni
- Same summer job = stable income (it’s nice, pleasant people, but really hard work in construction, sometimes 12 hour workdays, doesn’t even pay that much)
- Cheaper life (at my parents)

CONS:

- No relationship
- Same old

Enjoying Sumer back home (I can do that every summer I suppose) and I’ll never have an Erasmus summer like this again. If it weren’t for the relationship I would go home after July, but now I am considering staying for August as well.
