This just in: church road is the loudest place on earth

Is anyone else losing their sanity due to the brain shatteringly loud jailbroken exhaust pipes sharting up and down the road? I’m autistic, so is my partner and my cats may as well get thrown in there too- we’re all starting to experience the 5 stages of grief each time it happens and I swear it’s getting more frequent? I got caught short (not poop) going into my flat recently as one was going past and it genuinely felt like a flash bang- it was so loud that my vision went as it happened. Am I getting old, or should these people be severely punished and have to rot in prison for the rest of their lives for this?

Helpful aids

Does anyone use kinesiology tape for wrists/hands? I saw a TikTok of someone saying they help but it looks a bit of a faff. Also are there any specific types of wrist supports that help?

Thanks

Fibro meds that seem to gel with neurodivergent brains

Hello, fellow sufferers x

I’m 32f diagnosed 5ish years ago after working in healthcare over Covid. I’m also recently diagnosed AuDHD (1.5years ago). I’m on Venlafaxine(love) propranolol(love for panic and anxiety attacks), vit d3 and gabapentin; which i absolutely hate. The side effects are life ruining and I’ve recently taken myself down from 1200mg a day to 800mg. Yes, the withdrawals were horrible but I felt like I had no choice, it was better than staying how I was and the side effects have lessened by a lot.

I’ve recently been signed off of work for 2 months as I cannnot function and am house bound/bed bound most days. I was absent most of the time for a few months prior to being signed off. I only worked 3 days a week but could barely go in 1 day a week and the other 6 were spent thinking and worrying about being able to try and fight my symptoms.

Since being signed off 3ish weeks ago, I’ve been doing gentle somatic shit most days, spending hours on my yoga mat with a heated blanket covering me like a warmed up corpse. Therapy once a week and I’ve been put on a waiting list for adhd medication, as the mental health practitioner says it could help a lot.

I imagine there are lots of people with a similar story. My question is, people a little further down the line with working out a good cocktail of meds to improve quality of life- what seems to work for you? After my experience with gabapentin I’m really scared of trying a similar drug, but I can’t function with this much pain and fatigue. I’m taking the mhp up on adhd meds as I understand the nhs has a lot more knowledge of, and treatment options for adhd compared to fibro/other umbrella conditions.

I could also do with hearing from others in/previously in a similar spot. It’s very isolating isn’t it.

Love x

Has anyone else (England) been told the ME specialists won’t accept your referral because you’ve already been diagnosed with fibro? Been referred back to rheumatology again, last time they promised me the earth and then the only follow up was a physio appointment where I was given advice to strengthen my core muscles. That was it. That was 3 years ago. For the last 5 months or so my ME symptoms have gotten so bad I’m now housebound and cannot work. Feeling completely hopeless. I just asked the GP if this means I don’t have ME, she said I do but they won’t diagnose or treat me as I’m already “being treated” for a similar condition. Anyone else?
