Just took the RTX 300 out for a spin! First impressions from a 5'6" rider (Tour vs. Urban modes)

Hey everyone,

I recently got the chance to ride the RTX 300, and I wanted to share my first impressions—especially for any shorter riders out there wondering about the ergonomics.

For context, I’m 5'6", and I was a bit anxious about how comfortable the bike would feel. Honestly? It felt great! The riding posture and seat height were surprisingly manageable, and I felt pretty confident on it.

Here is how the ride went:

The Modes: Tour vs. Urban

I spent most of my time switching between two modes, and both definitely impressed me.

  • Tour Mode: Absolutely excellent. The power delivery is incredibly smooth, and it gives you exactly what you expect when you twist the throttle. It makes for a fantastic, effortless cruising experience.
  • Urban Mode: Also a solid thumbs up. You can feel a slight drop in power delivery compared to Tour mode, but it’s perfect for navigating city traffic. It completely satisfied my expectations for daily commuting.

The One Struggle... 😅

The only time I felt stuck was when I had to reverse the bike. Being 5'6", shuffling it backward took some effort, and I had a bit of a clumsy moment trying to handle the weight. I’m hoping this is just a learning curve and something I’ll manage better in the future as I get used to the bike's balance.

Overall, I'm super happy with the experience.

Any other 5'6" (or shorter) riders out there on an RTX 300? Do you have any tips for paddling the bike backward, or does it just get easier with time?

Ride safe!
