One of the finishing touches of my 13th century came in today! It is a custom great helm based of the maciejowski Bible. It is 2mm thick in the front plates and 1.5mm thick in the rear plates. I'm smitten with it but wanted to share it to the group :)
I'm currently building a mid 13th century kit (1240-1260) and wanted to know if anyone has recommendations for a combat ready greathelm. Not looking at intense buhurt combat but definitely lighter bouts and sparring. I'd prefer tempered steel and a smaller fit meant to be worn over a coif and arming cap. Pic attached is one of my main inspirations. Thanks for the help!
