Where is the best place to buy Herpa 1:500 models?

Hi, a friend and I have started a scale model project; we’ve already laid down the tarmac and grass, and now we’d like to buy the gates—and a few model planes would be nice too. However, since we’re working at a 1:500 scale and mostly buying Herpa products, this could turn into an expensive hobby. I was wondering where the best place is to get these items. I look forward to hearing your suggestions!

How do I recognize the smaller airplanes?

Hi, I always find it difficult to tell the smaller aircraft—like the A319, A320, A321, and A220—apart. Does anyone have a trick for that? I’d love to hear it.

Sanicole Airshow 2026.

Hi, I’m going to the Sanicole Airshow on Sunday, September 13, 2026, and I was wondering if anyone has any tips regarding my camera and where to stand. I have standard tickets for Sunday. I currently have a Canon EOS 1000D, but for the airshow, I plan to upgrade to a Canon EOS 80D with an 18-200mm Sigma lens (Canon mount). Is that a good camera for capturing nice videos? AI suggests using a different lens because this one tends to rattle a bit, but since my budget is limited—and my current camera battery is broken—I think I’ll just stick with this setup. I’d love to hear any comments or tips you might have.

Good camera for plane spotting.

Hi, I have a question about a good camera body for my needs. I do a lot of plane spotting and want to start filming aircraft. I currently have a Canon EOS 1000D and want to switch to a camera that can also record video. My lens is a Sigma DC 18-200mm (which I believe is capable of video) with an EF mount. I was considering the Canon EOS 80D but wasn't sure if it was the right choice. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
