Thrift store “vintage” win for this basic B

I do not have the creative eye to put killer outfits together like you all. I still wear the same few conservative labels I bought when graduating law school 15 years ago: Ann Taylor suits, Calvin Klein dresses with blazers, Ralph Lauren cocktail dresses for fancier functions and Coach or Kate Spade handbags. I haven’t updated anything because, as you all know, quality has fallen off a cliff.

For shopping fun on a government employee budget I search thrift stores for DVDs of a few tv shows I watch on repeat to destress. On Monday I hit the jackpot!

A lovely lady my same size donated barely worn outfits including an Ann Taylor suit, a Calvin Klein structured A line dress, a Ralph Lauren cocktail dress, and a black Coach handbag, almost identical to my daily bag, but in like new condition! I snagged them all for $32 total!

ChatGPT attorney chimes in from the gallery

I represent a state agency in court for enforcements actions. The docket has three hearing times with around 10 cases at the same time. All parties with the same hearing time are called into the courtroom together.

A hearing on a motion brought by a pro se respondent was proceeding how they always do. Then an older woman from the back of the gallery raised her hand, did not wait to be recognized, asked if she could speak, and without waiting for an answer on that either proceeded to start giving legal advice to the respondent whose hearing was actually in front of the court.

She was not a party to the case. They did not know each other. Turns out she had the last case on the docket but thought she could offer helpful advice because of all her “research.” She was removed until her hearing was called.

When it was her turn she demonstrated the exact level of incompetent confidence you’d expect.

Our gallery can get a little rowdy but this was a new one. Is there a ChatGPT equivalent term for a jailhouse attorney?
