Which approach is faster - Azubi (16a) or Anerkennung ausländischer Qualifikationen (18b)?

Hi everyone!

I'm talking to 2 different people.

  • One said that Azubi is faster to acquire VISA, because with Anerkennung, you have to send original papers to Germany to get it to be qualified.
  • One said Anerkennung is faster to acquire VISA, because you don't have to wait until around August next year to receive your VISA because German Embassy waits until around August to give you the VISA because August is the time when Azubi schools in Germany start (there are March schools too but August schools have more possibilities). This person tells me to simply send her translated and notarized papers through online way, no need to send her original papers.

Please let me know which person is telling the truth.

Thank you!

Got hired directly as Mitarbeiter instead of Azubi. Is there a chance of scam?

Hallo zusammen!

I'm a foreigner (not living in Deutschland at the moment) looking for a chance to work in Germany as Azubi. I have a B1 ÖSD Zertifikat (trying to get B2 next month) and C1 English TOEIC.

I met someone who is living in Germany who agreed to help me become an Azubi. After 2 days, they found for me a Restaurant where the owner said I'm accepted to work as Mitarbeiter Kellner. The owner is allegedly friend with my person. The person sent me the location in Google and it seems legit - more than 400 reviews, close to five stars. The owner accepted me just by looking at my documents.

As part of a whole, I will pay this person an amount of money after I receive the contract from the company.

Is there a chance of scam? What should I do and what should I know? What should I subtly ask my person to know if I'm being scammed?

Thank you!

"In der Anzeige stand, der Kurs koste nur 90 Euro" - Is the omitted "es" supposed to be the Subjekt, and its verb is "stand"?

Hallo zusammen!

Yeah my question is basically in the title. Omitted "es" in German always drive me crazy.

"In der Anzeige stand es, der Kurs koste nur 90 Euro"

Thank you!

Should I write number in number form or text form, during Schreibtest?

I'm gonna take ÖSD B2 Test, and I'm not sure if I should write a number (e.g. 4) as number 4 or text "vier". I feel like if I write 4 then it would be too disrespectful, since this is a writing text, I should show my writing.

1999 should be written with number, right? Since eintausendneunhundertneunundneunzig takes a ton of time.

Please help me. Thank you!

Unusual passive (to me): "Dieser Frau wurde der Führerschein entzogen."

Guten Tag!

Ich stumbled across this passive sentence: "Dieser Frau wurde der Führerschein entzogen."

Why is there a Dativ "dieser Frau"? From what I learnt, it should be simply without the Dativ: "Der Führerschein wurde entzogen" or if there is, then: "Der Führerschein wurde von dieser Frau entzogen" (The license would be revoked from this woman).

Please help me. Thank you!

Why ending -en of Zeiten here: "Die Besten aller Zeiten."?

Hallo zusammen!

May I ask, why does Zeiten here have ending -en? "Die Besten aller Zeiten."

I'm only aware of:

  • n-Deklination (adding -n or -en to all cases (except Nominativ) of weak Masculine nouns).
  • the suffix -n / -en in the Dative Plural for masculine nouns.

So, what case is "Zeiten" here? It's not weak Masculine noun, so n-Deklination is not being applied. Moreover, it's Genitiv, not Dativ, so not the second type of declination.

Please help me understand. Thank you!

Hallo zusammen!

I was reading this sentence and got confused:

>Welches sind Bilder, die nicht gelöscht werden?

It should have been "welche", right? Since there are plural "sind Bilder".

If it's Welches, please help me understand why.

Thank you!

Hallo! I'm very new to German language and German culture.

I'm doing a test for a job and it asks:

>Ein Kollege fragt, ob du einen Dienst mit ihm tauschen könntest. Du weißt, dass dein Kollege aufgrund privater Probleme eine schwierige Zeit hat und bestimmt fragt, weil er keine Betreuung für seine Kinder hat.
Was machst du?

What does Betreuung für Kinder mean in this context? Why is the fact that "he has no care for his children" be brought into this context? How would it affect my decision if I should help him or not?

Please understand that I would gladly help him under any circumstances, I just don't understand the relevancy of this detail that the test provided, and if the test is tricking me.

Does keine Betreuung für Kinder mean

  • he doesn't give a damn about his kids
  • or he isn't capable of taking care of his kids
  • or he's can't take care of his kids even though he wants to?

Does this have something to do with the work policy, or is it a part of German Work Culture that I don't know about?

Thank you for the insights!
