Coast fired and now a bit bored

I’m 48f and I was able to leave my high paying tech job in April because my husband’s last company was acquired. He still needs to keep working because we haven’t hit our full fire number. He is also a bit younger than me as well and is entering his peak earning years. After a summer with our two elementary aged kids I realized being a care giver isn’t for me. They were even in camp full time. I don’t miss my actual job but mostly the interaction with peers. I can consult for a bit but the thought of doing that in my former type of role doesn’t interest me but it’s an easy option. Volunteering is fine but I during the day most ppl in my age group are working. Any thoughts from women in similar situations?

Focused shockwave therapy

Has anyone done this for their scar tissue ? Have had one session on lateral side of knee and has immediate relief on stiffness and then it’s supposed to help break down scar tissue in long term.

Dry needling for stiffness

I had my tkr July 2025 and an incision revision in week three. I had to mobilize my leg for three weeks which slowed down recovery a lot. I’m 48f. Recovery has been a long road and my passive rom has been fine but stiffness and muscle guarding have really limited my comfort and active rom. It felt like I was moving my knee through Velcro and glue. I did all my exercises and tried massage, graston, regular foam rolling, steam room hot tub, ice and cupping, regular pt stretching and my stiffness always came back immediately. Finally my husband mentioned dry needling and I tried it and it glorious. I had immediate relief for 48 hours. We also realized a tiny muscle above my kneecap was the key stiffness culprit called the articularis genu. It’w under the quad so very hard to get via massage so the needle got straight into it. I just wanted to pass this along in case it helps anyone. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
