So, I've been thinking about this for a while and only now decided to make a post. How good is the idea of the game having casters - Wizards or Priests - that aren't Heroes?
I first started thinking about it when I realized that DoK Doomfire Warlocks are Wizards, yet aren't Heroes and so can be spammed without any restrictions. To my knowledge, they were the only unit like that in the game, which fascinated me. Why them? And why no one else?
As far as I know, the only other non-Hero casters at that moment was Soggy Black Coach, and a bunch of Legends Underworlds warbands. And all those either were Unique, or had other limitations as to not make them spammable. Since then, Warlocks themselves went into soon-to-be Legends, but we also got the new SoA Blightkings who can be Priests - though, again, only one unit per Army.
So what do you think about the idea of there being non-Hero Wizards and Priests? Would the game be better if there were more units like that, giving us more flexibility in listbuilding and giving rules writers more design zoace for intresting rules? Should some of them be spammable like Doomfire Warlocks? Or do you think they would make access to spells and prayers too easy and make Heroes feel less special?
Thanks for any replies.
So, I finally got myself to 2k points of Daughters of Khaine. Still have to finish painting some of them, but I'm feeling ready to put them on the table. Well, I did play one game earlier using some of my other models as proxies, but that wasn't the same. Here's what I got:

What do you think? Would you suggest changing something? Other than units in the list, I, for now have only High Gladiatrix as well as all the options out of the Cauldron kit. I'm also willing to proxy SoS as Witch Aelves and Lifetakers as Heartrenders. ... Not many options, I know, but I do want to make the best out of it. I'm especially interested of what you think about taking a Cauldron vs just having 2 foot Priests (Hag and Slaughter Queens).
I'm also curious as to what you think I should get next. My plan right now would be Krethusa and 20 Blood Hags - I proxied them in that one game, and I quite liked how they performed.
Changes:
Now only one Blood Rite per dead unit.
Morathi +20
Hag Queen on Cauldron +10
Slaughter Queen on Cauldron +20
Bloodwrack Shrine -10
Blood Hags +10
Blood Sisters +20
Khinerai Lifetakers +10

Didn't expect them to allow Shadow Queen to do multiple Iron Heart of Khaine moves in the same phase. There are going to be some truly ridiculous plays with this.
